According to truehoop and the NBA rulebook, if a player gets a tech/flagrant for elbowing someone above the shoulders, it should be an automatic ejection.

Anyone see him getting suspended a game? I don't.

Dwight getting tossed is certainly much more of a legit debate that if Rondo's foul was flagrant or not.

If that's a regular season game I think he gets tossed for that. I didn't watch that game, did the refs stop play and review it?

He should get suspended. The elbow was at least as bad as Ray Allen's elbow to Varejao's nuts the last week of the season. And if Amare and the other Suns got suspended for barely stepping onto the floor during the playoffs, you have to think Dwight's going to get a 1 game for that elbow.

He should have been ejected. But since he wasn't. He'll probably be suspended.

He SHOULD be suspended a game. If he isn't but Amare and Diaw were...WTF?

NBA officiating is so freaking inconsistent...

Thats true JBH, and im sure he'll get suspended. Why he wasnt ejected I dont know but probably cost Philly a chance to go home up 3-2

If he doesn't get suspended I don't know if I will watch the rest of the playoffs are not. I am sick of the preferential treatment given to the "Stars" of this league. If that were one of the Charlotte Bobcats throwing that elbow they would have been tossed from the game and suspended for three.

At least he didn't haymaker somebody in the mouth in their most vulnerable position during the most important possession of the game, leaving them bleeding and requiring stitches.

Dwight's elbow to Courtney Lee was MUCH nastier than his elbow to Sammy Dalembert, knocking Lee out of the game early in the 1st half. In fact, watching NBA TV highlights, they showed the Courtney Lee elbow but didn't even show the Dalembert one.

I say let the man play, it's the playoffs. Dalembert is fine. And Tony Di Leo is a bee eye tee see aitch.

Bottom line is Rondo was stopping a clear shot to tie the game at the buzzer. He needed to foul and make sure the layup wasn't going in. As for Howard, the Magic had 2 points and the game was very early and the elbow to the head of Dalembert was unnecessary. Howard needs to sit a game and learn how to be a man and let his team do work without his 20pts and 20rbs. I have a good feeling no Howard=game 7. Maybe he will learn through disipline. The fact that it's the playoffs doesn't mean he gets a free pass. It means all the more reason to not throw a silly cheap elbow for no reason.

He should be suspended for game 6. If he isn't I will lead the city of Philadelphia protesting in front of the Wachovia center. If it were Dalebert doing it to Howard he would have been ejected immediately and or suspended for the next game. He should have been ejected and suspended for game 6.

If Dalembert elbowed Dwight in the head the way Dwight did to him, I would think a suspension for Dalembert in the playoffs would be over the top.

Hell, just watch what Dalembert/Evans/Ratliff does to Dwight in the post every time Dwight tries to gain position. It's absolute rape, and over the course of the game is worse than that elbow.

The T on Dwight was all that was needed. He doesn't have a history of attacking other players. If he does it again, suspend him. But this was just a one time thing.

Funny. I don't see where taking into account a players case history is a prerequisite for weighing a suspension.
