    2nd round schedule

I'm not sure about the eastern conference, but I notice a very strange thing in the west. There is going to be a back-to-back set during the Kings/Mavs series. It's on Saturday and Sunday (5/10, 5/11) at Sac. Weird. No time for players to rest up. Damn NBA.

Hockey does this consistently throughout the playoffs. I've played basketball and i can only imagine that hockey players need a little more time for their bodies to rest up.

Besides, the playoffs take long enough as is with 3 and 4 days in between games, it's just ridiculous.

Back-to-back games are good. If you condition your body correctly, you should have no problems. I applaud the NBA on this move.

exactly! with all the rest between games it doesn't make conditioning a factor, and I think that hurts the team with the better bench or more fit players. It shouldn't be too much of a problem from here on out. They can't have 4 days between games in the finals, people would scream.

I think they should have left the format the way it was. Money I understand, but who else has back to back games already? It's really weird.

Baseball and hockey have back to back games. College bball teams play multiple back to back games during their conference tournies.

                        Re: 2nd round schedule

baseball's a bad example. they play 6 games a week all season long. It's not as taxing to play baseball every day as it is hockey or basketball. The hockey playoffs did make some teams play back to back nights (2 or 3 games total) but I thought that was a little strange also. However, both teams are playing on no rest, so it shouldn't be that big a deal.
