Maybe it's just me, but why would Kobe leave? It was different when the Lakers were an 8th seed team...but now? And wouldn't the Lakers want Kobe a Laker for life ala West, Magic and Baylor?

And it's not like Kobe will break down fast. He keeps himself in impeccable shape and his jumper is so good, he won't need to out-athlete his defender.

I know it didn't happen but there were plenty of talks about it so for people to complete rule out the idea of LeBron leaving Cleveland (which would be a far less move by comparison of MJ leaving the Bulls) is absurd.

Are you kidding me? I haven't read the rest of this thread but come on.

Loyalty in sports definately exists. Jason Taylor... could be making 10 million in Washington, but puts up with 1 million in Miami. Why? He loves the place, and he has family their.

Lebron and Ohio... he loves the place. All his family and freinds and the coach is practically his butt buddy. Hell he still goes back to his high school like every day.

As far as the market thing goes, how many people did you see wearing Cleveland stuff before they got Lebron? There was not a single one, at all. Their market is growing and growing.

Kobe will also want to stay in LA if possible. As far as your basketball players usually start to decline after whatever age goes, is Kobe a usual basketball player?
