Wow, those models are absolute *** compared to 2k4. Notice how the players all look stubby and short. TMAC doesnt look tall and dangly at all like he does in real life. I really think this will be the year Sega nails it with 2k4. Theyve been so close to perfection. All they have to do is fix minor things like passing, maybe add some shooting animations, and bam best basketball game ever. I really dont think EA will be able to beat 2k4, unless they come out with one hell of an upgrade from 2003.

        The dynasty will return

Live's player models weren't as good as 2k3 last year, but the animations were vastly superior. In my book, the player models don't have to be better than the competition if they move a lot better--which they did. If EA works on the AI, '04 will be a great game.

Dude, what game did you play? 2k3's animations were SICK. OMG dude 2k3 definitly had the best dunk and crossover animations. The only animation live had better was the jumpshot.

Live was a much smoother game.

I agree that NBA Live's animations were better than 2K3's, especially the dunks and jumpers. But everyone's opinions are gonna be different.

Anyway, I don't think any of you read what I said earlier. I just said that the new GAMEPRO magazine has SCREENS OF NBA 2K4 and NBA LIVE 2004.

From what it shows, the NBA LIVE pictures have VERY REALISTIC FACES and EXPRESSIONS. The NBA LIVE screens from the net are probably all early shots or something, because in the mag, YAO MING AND TMAC look like themselves big time and their player models are very accurate.

NBA 2K4 looks the same in the FACES, which look emotionless, but the the PLAYER MODELS are more muscular and sweaty.

2k3 was a superior game, but as far as animations were concerned Sega's players(in all games) are very stiff. They move like robots, and dont appear to be loose. They seem to appear very tight, with the jump shot and even dribbling, the crossovers look akward as well. Live was way smoother than 2k.

Hey the website actually worked when this thread was first posted and it showed a very realistic picture of Yao Ming posting up TMac. I hope some of you at least saw that picture. I saved it, but don't have any website to post it on or whatever.

But anyway, do you think that this means NBA Live 2004 is gonna try to get either of those two guys for the cover? I think so, personally.
