Anyone who participates in an ESPN poll watches sports all the time, and that is the very opposite of "casual".

BTW, that's a marketing fact true for almost any internet poll, not just ESPN.
That was the point I was trying to make. I just didn't word it quite as well.

Internet polls are not good evidence of anything ever (aside from proving that there are a ton of homers).

It was a nationwide poll but nevertheless, to say ESPN caters to the hardcore crowd is not true at all...they hype up whoever is winning. They smash on who isnt at the moment or just block them out. Wade is a perfect example

Maybe I missed it, but I don't think he said "ESPN caters to the hardcore fan."

It's more like "an ESPN internet poll is not representative of the casual fan".

Which is not saying the same thing.

Yeah I think he clarified that.. I still think the NBA is dropping the ball on its fans the way they do business. Too many things are forced now, scripted and homerized.

I guess I said that before so im going to bow out now

I'm more going for "an ESPN internet poll is not representative of anything."

Internet polls always over represent the minority opinion because they tend to care and vote more.

Internet polls aren't accurate by any means. I'll go ahead & admit I sometimes vote twice on the same subject. I'll give my choice @ home, then come to work & vote again. & I'm sure I'm not the only one.
