Larry Brown trashes Phil Jackson on WIP

while listening to Howard Eskin on 610 WIP here in Philly, he had Larry Brown on. and Larry went off on Phil Jackson on how he complains so much about not getting calls going his way from the refs. basically Brown said when the Lakers lost the first two games against S.A., Jackson whined and complained about not getting fair calls. then he said you noticed how the next two games, the Lakers got all the calls and ultimately won. i was laughing so hard. Larry Brown went off on Jackson so bad. i really think this was more a Brown helping out his buddy Greg Popovich...but i think it also is a lil' something from 2 years ago from the Lakers-Sixers series. hopefully we get to that point again this year...have more Brown vs. Jackson again

sorry i don't have a link about this whole thing. but since WIP is crappy, they don't list it on their website.

I don't think there is any personal agenda in Brown's comments because if u go back a few years Phil Jackson did this very same thing when he was with Chicago. He complained how the Pistons get away with too much and there should be more foul calls, flagrant fouls, etc. And this took all of the agressiveness out of the Pistons thus finally helping the Bulls finally beat Detroit. Yes the Pistons were older and banged up, but Jackson's antics damn sure helped which is sad because it seems he's the only coach this bit of "posturing" (sp) works for. He did this same thing in some of those infamous Bulls-Knicks series'. Kudos Larry Brown for saying what a lot of us post on message boards every season.

People may not like it, but it is true, and I said it would happen to SA after the first 2 games of this series. He even said bringing the officiating to the media brings changes. (Paraphrasing a few words).

As far as the Pistons series goes, it was a bad example to use, because those guys played dirty ball purposely.

All in all, Brown is correct, and I think it's a shame that so many questionable calls that are not consistantly distributed to both sides occur so frequently.

None of this can be debated and it's one reason, IMO, that so many people are (rightly or wrongly) getting pissed with LA.

The talking to refs during games and Phil's post game stuff is beyond a joke.

Look at PJ's history and he almost ALWAYS gets his way by the end of a series.

I heard the interview too...I believe Larrys exact words were "Crybabies cry". I thought it was hilarious to hear LB call Phil a crybaby. And he was irritated too. You could tell by the tone of his voice.
