    Turkoglu opting out of contract

    No off season thread yet?

    Hedo has already said he will become an FA. Interesting.

              Wow, ORL may have two overpaid players now... I say why not keep him? Unless he is demanding max money, the team is pretty young.. their 4 best players are 30 and under.. and "All-Star" caliber..

              BOS has 1 or 2 years left IMO, CLE will still be there but ORL can compete with them..

                Good jokes at that. I could see the Raptors or the Pistons overpaying him.

                  Well I could DEFINITELY see good ol Isiah, coughing up a wad of cash..if he was still around .

                  I dont know the cap situation of the two teams off hand, but I would say let him walk, and go after whoever the Lakers do not keep out of Odom or Ariza. Can The Lake really afford to keep both??

                    Turk is 30 and Shard will be 30 by the start of next season.

                    Unless he's willing to be reasonable, I think you let him walk and try for a wing player the next year (I'm looking at you Joe Johnson).

                      If Odom doesn't come back to LA I'm guessing Odom will want as much as Hedo..

                      Ariza it will be interesting to see how much people think he's worth.

                        Interesting indeed. The one thing Isiah COULD do was draft. He was an excellent find, and has developed nicely.

                        I think what he brings would be absolutely worthless to a average team...he's a Gerald Wallace type player, to me.

                        If he's your 3rd quality starter, wing defender, who can give you 15-17 pts a night, youre golden.

                        If you need him to be a 2nd banana, I think your team is in trouble, and I dont think he has the game to handle that.

                          Neither Turk nor Ariza are anywhere near a 2nd option.

                          IMO

                          Turk= 3rd wheel
                          Ariza= 4th or 5th wheel if that

                          If both leave their teams, they'll be grossly overpaid

                            I agree with Ex, I don't think Ariza is at that level just yet - or if he even has that potential. He reminds me of Robert Horry a little bit, though Horry was more effective defensively at this point in his career.
