There's a rumor floating around stating that the reason Bill Laimbeer had abruptly resigned as coach of the WNBA's Detroit Shock at the start of that league's season is that he badly wants a head coaching gig in the NBA. Some sources even speculate that Laimbeer will be asked to be head coach of the Timberwolves and he'll take over that team. We'll see what happens.

I'd love to see Bill Laimbeer coaching in the NBA. He was one of my favorite players growing up.

I wanna see Laimbeer kicking some butts in the NBA again! He'll be the Bobby Knight of the NBA. But I got the impression that he's become calmer during the recent years. So he just needs to forget about it and be a Bad Boy once again...!

McHale actually did a very decent job with the Bulls while they were healthy last year. They had a streak of some pretty significant wins before Al J went down with the ACL. I personally think they should have let him come back for a year and continued with this core while tweaking and adding pieces here and there.

But if they had the intention of trading Al then the move made sense I suppose (even though I think that's a dumb move as well, IMO he's the best low post scorer in the league right now)
