Re: Top 5 Highflyers of All-Time
What's so funny? I had Lebron on my list for high flyers. What did I put him, third? But if you think his dunks have "style" or "flare"...well, that's just further proof that it's in the eye of the beholder. Half of the dunks in the links you posted are just him going up with his hand straight in the air and dunking. The other ones are with him doing the same thing two handed. I could see if there were 360s and reverses and windmills(J-Rich and Vince have done all 3 combined into one dunk, lol), but come on, man. I mean come on.Comment

Re: Top 5 Highflyers of All-Time
I will forever remember VC dunking on that massive French dude. That is one of my favorite dunks of all time, and earns him the top spot. I'm not well versed in terms of dunkers in the NBA, it's not really my thing, but Jordan is up there, along with some of the bigger power dunkers, like 'Chocolate Thunder'. Yeah, it was basically a two-hand throw-down, but DAMN.Comment

IMO Vince should be number 1 on any list involving jumping, dunking, style (while dunking), and/or creativity (while dunking).Last edited by eDotd; 06-18-2009, 04:19 AM.

Re: Top 5 Highflyers of All-Time
Exactly. Bron has a lot of athletic gifts, more than most in history, but grace and acrobatics aren't among them. I watched his HS Slam Dunk when it first came on. I was blown away that he had to move his head on the way down to avoid the backboard. But everyone watching was a little sad that Giddens had a foot injury, and couldn't be as creative as he wanted to be, because Bron's dunks were essentially just him jumping really high and dunking really hard.

Re: Top 5 Highflyers of All-Time
I think Harold miner was on of the best all time dunkers in the NBA. Maybe not top 5 but a honorable mention. To me its hard to differenciate the real dunkers and the flyers, to me flyers are guys who glide trough and then you have the power dunkers. my list according to their kind of dunks
Flyers
Dr J
Drexler
Jordan
Richardson/wade
Vince

Re: Top 5 Highflyers of All-Time
1. Vince-- Clear cut
2. Jordan-- More variety than Wilkins
3. Wilkins-- Great two footed dunker with variations off two dunks
4. David Thompson-- It was highflyers was it not?
5. Spud Webb-- See #4.Comment

Re: Top 5 Highflyers of All-Time
Funny how you're the only person to see him do "every dunk" but yet even Cavs said his dunks are just basic dunks with him getting a fast start.#RespectTheCultureComment

His dunks in traffic and in the half court set are nasty. Give me those any day of the week over J-Rich's breakaway dunks.Comment
