calm down, Zig....but you have to admit missing those imprtant free throws in the second game was pretty lame on his part. and his game before this last one was just God awful. yes he had the other stats but when it comes to these series...in the playoffs, he has the green light to go off whenever he wants and he never took his oppurtunity.

Iverson played his *** off. Can't question his heart.

To think, we were so close to getting him a few years back.

Hats off to Philly... great series.

And that is the reason as a team leader he needs to develop the confidence of his teammates. And confidence doesn't happen instantly and it takes time.
He needs to share the responsibility to other players whether they like it or not.
Except Coleman. He is a veteran player and has been in a similar situation many times before.
They need to find a confident player to score other than Coleman. Or else next time it will be a sweep.

Come on man, you talked about Philly like Detroit has no chance, now that Philly is done Im a troll for saying something about it? Get real. You really need to look at that replay again because Ben didnt even jump. Iverson blew 2 free throws in game 2, 4 layups in game 5 and a layup with less than 10 seconds left in game 6, how can you say he didnt choke? I am not a troll, but you seem to be so far up Iversons arse that you dont see that he choked.

Oh and BTW the tallest guy on our roster is 6'11, and hes not a starter. Cliff is really a PF, but hes our starting center...

Re: Its time for AI to step up

You have 7’0” ft, Rebracca, also you have three 6’11” guys and two 6’9” guys. Now my Sixers have to 6’10” guys in KVH and DC. Everyone else is 6’8” and under. So I would say you guys have the height advantage. Ben did jump, he was to the side of him, he was close enough to block him, but his presence is enough to make anyone change their shot a little. Now I’ll admit he did choke game 2 when he missed to clutch freethrows, but game 5 he was having an all around bad scoring game, so he didn’t choke. Everyone has bad games once in awhile. I’m not up Iverson’s “arse,” you are up your teams “arse.” I just don’t see how you make three straight scores to put your team in the position to win, and can be said you choked??? Especially when AI put up 38pts. 9ast. 3rebs. 2stls. and 1 block. I think he played his *** off. And I can’t see how blind you can be not to see that. If Atkins had of missed that lay-up in game 5, would you have said he choked??? NO, and neither would I. So because Iverson’s bounced out he choked??? Get real man, be an Iverson ***** all you what, but you have to admit he put it all out on the floor. I’ll be rooting for Ben (In fact I thought he should have been MVP, if you don’t believe me check the MVP thread) despite him beating my team because he is one of my favorite players after Jordan, and Iverson. So no hate on the Pistons, just felt that it was unfair to put all the blame on him when only Coleman and Kenny Thomas where the only Sixers to score in double digits as well as a double double, because of the excellent rebounding.

If missing two free throws at the end of a game, missing 4 layups in another and missing a very important layup with less than 10 seconds to go isnt choking... please explain what is. Does it really matter if he scored 6 straight points if he blew the most important layup of the game? IMO... no.

Im far from an Iverson *****, I actually pull for him when they arent playing the Pistons. But if Billips missed the same shots Iverson did, I would be able to admit he choked. Layups should be gimmies, Iverson was so worried about trying to draw contact the contact from Ben that he missed the layup. Ben didnt jump, and that messed him up. He had a wide open rim, although he had to step between Tayshaun and Ben to get there, neither Piston jumped until the ball came off the rim. I actually watched the end two more times last night because I was bored at work and they replayed it both on the local channel and ESPN.
