Re: Big Al Jefferson + 6th pick for Amar'e?
Be cautious Phoenix fans. Jefferson is a product of the crappy team that is Minnesota. He's pulling stats being on a bottom feeder. Don't get me wrong, he's a good player, but he has some huge holes. He plays ZERO defense, and because of his lack of athleticism, he can't play defense. He will not pass, period. Ever. He's the biggest black hole I've ever seen. WAY worse than Amare. Extremely limited jumper, but perhaps that will come.
No doubt you have to move an irritated Amare, but Jefferson won't quite pick up the slack. Also, if Jefferson doesn't get touches, watch out, you'll have an unhappy soldier as Jefferson is all about himself.
The upside is WAY higher with Amare, but the downside is that he's more erratic, so downside is lower too. This is probably a good trade for both sides in reality."Well the NBA is in great hands but if I had to pick the single greatest player on the planet, I take Kobe Bryant without hesitation." - Michael Jordan, 2006Comment

Amazing deal for Phoenix. Jefferson is almost equal to Stoudamire with the exception of athleticism which Amare has by a mile. But Jefferson has better low post moves because he can't rely on athleticism. And the 6th overall pick? They can get a very nice player at #6 or even look to trade up to the top 3 to get one of the studs with the #6 and the #14.NFL: Bills

How is Jefferson all about himself? I've heard nothing but positive things about his attitude.
I would take Big Al for Amare straight up. If this deal goes through, the suns make out BIG (al + the 6th).
Amare is probably the better fit for how the suns play right now, but Al's post game and rebounding is amazing.Comment

Re: Big Al Jefferson + 6th pick for Amar'e?
this years draft sucks.
but why would the timberwolves even do this? weird they must really be scared by al jeffersons knee.
anyway that would be a great move for the suns because they can add a decent player through to the draft to a team that has totally lost depth and talentComment

Wow...so no one thinks an ACL tear to Jefferson's knee is not going to affect his play or lower his value???

Also, he will get his touches. He has arguably the best post game in the NBA...for him not to get touches with Nash at point would be absurd.Comment

Re: Big Al Jefferson + 6th pick for Amar'e?
I don't really agree with this at all. The draft is certainly lacking star players but I think a lot of these guys will have significant NBA careers.
I still believe that Ty Lawson and Jonny Flynn will be very solid starting PGs in the NBA. I think Lawson will end up being one of the top 5 PGs at some point just based on his playing style. Flynn could very well end up in the same position due to his athleticism, quickness, work ethic, and desire to win.
I think Stephen Curry could thrive in the right system, Warriors, Suns, Knicks, etc.
Other guards that I think will find success in the NBA (meaning that they will be starters or 6th man) include James Harden, Wayne Ellington, Tyreke Evans, and Jeff Teague, and the last one that might end up being decent would be Darren Collison.
Big men that I think will be solid starters or 6th men are Blake Griffin, Hasheem Thabeet, and Tyler Hansbrough.NFL: Bills
