Re: Foye/Miller to the Wizards
I think they try to trade up for Rubio.
Maybe they trade the 5th and Jefferson for Amare and 14, and flip 6/14 to Memphis for #2 for Rubio?Comment

Re: Foye/Miller to the Wizards
That's what I was thinking as the other option, it would work because Evans is a huge PG and could guard NBA shooting guards and let the smaller Curry guard the opposing point. Re: Foye/Miller to the Wizards
Abe didn't feel like paying Top 5 money that's probably why he threw that in there as well. But I agree with Cebby on this. Now all Flip and Ernie has to do is remind Blatche that he is not a Guard and to stop trying to act like one for crying out loud.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Foye/Miller to the Wizards
1. Most importantly, it dismisses the notion that Cavs and Knicks fans have been touting that we are in some sort of Bucks/Griz/Suns realm of salary dumping due to terrible finances. While I never really believed this, having it completely off the table makes me happy.
2. It addresses 2 of our 3 biggest weakness, and the only 2 that really could be addressed (since we obviously aren't getting a good big man with our tradeable pieces). It gets us a serviceable to very good backup for Gil who could maybe possibly progress into a good (not all-star, but above average starting) guard and gets us some 3 point shooting. If Mike Miller right now was in this draft, he'd probably be picked in the 2-7 range anyway.
3. We keep Mike James aka 6.5 mil off the books next year as well as all of our young players. This way, we keep some tradeable items for another trade soon or at the break if the situation arises.
This still doesn't make us any better than a second round team or a ECF team if everyone stays healthy, Gil comes back as good as 06-07, and we get some breaks, but it's better than blowing up the team over nothing.Comment

Holy hell, this trade is official? I'm not sure why either team would do this. Wizards get to above average players and the Wolves get another draft pick?
What? Why? NBA Gm's don't know what the hell they are doing.Too Old To Game Club

Re: Foye/Miller to the Wizards
I'm starting to come around and place this trade in the positive side for three reasons:
1. Most importantly, it dismisses the notion that Cavs and Knicks fans have been touting that we are in some sort of Bucks/Griz/Suns realm of salary dumping due to terrible finances. While I never really believed this, having it completely off the table makes me happy.

Hey, I'm ok with the ECF!Especially after going to 20 Wiz games last year and watching them win only 1.
I'm cool with keeping James as long as he never suits up. He was brutal last year.Comment

Just wow. I can't imagine they keep all 8 of those players. I imagine someone has to be moved.. or else a lot of those guys are going to be stuck on the bench.Comment

Re: Foye/Miller to the Wizards
I don't like this trade for the Wiz. They basically secured the #5 playoff spot for the next five years and at best a 2nd round exit, for a guy like Curry who can really be something special for years to come.
This doesn't make them a contender.Comment

I imagine that we'll move Crit and Mike James for a comparably below average big man.Last edited by Cebby; 06-23-2009, 08:46 PM.Comment
