    One more Webber rant

Webber is hurt regularly. This wasn't a freak thing that changed the course of the NBA season. To have Chris Webber is to know that you're dangling from a thread at all times that you'll lose him to injury. Shoulder, back, knee....he seems to have them all.

    I ask this:

-When UofMiami beat Nebraska, 31-30, for the national championship in the 80s, does anyone remember that Mike Rozier missed most of the game with an injury?

-Is Ohio State's national championship tainted because Willis McGahee blew his knee out in the middle of the game?

-Was the Red Wings title in 98 tainted because the Dallas Stars were missing their top scorer, Joe Niewendyk, after a cheap shot by Bryan Marchment in the previous round?

You get the point. You can do this all day.

I understand that Webber is a fantastic player and the Kings' best player. But to completely dismiss the Mavericks victory entirely is ridiculous.

If the Mavs didn't lose Finley for the last month of the season, they'd probably have the home court against San Antonio. Tough toodles, Dallas. Just shut up and play.

So if Nowitzki had gone out instead of Webber, you wouldnt have complained?

Nowitski doesn't have a history of one injury after another, so it's not entirely apples to apples.

But no one would have remember it down the road if he had.

Webber will likely be hurt next year, too, at key times. Are we going to say this every year?

Although i do think if Webber would have been healthy the kings would have won you are right injuries happen. When Willis got hurnt OSU was already in complete control of the title game but i do get your point.

So you're saying because Nowitzki doesnt have a history of injuries, then that doesnt count? It doesnt matter if you have a history of injuries or not. Okay lets put it like this, lets say hypothetically Duncan has a history of injuries. Had he gone out in game 2 against the Lakers, would that not justify complaints by Spurs Fans, because they're use to playing without him and he has a history of injuries, so youre saying it really doesnt matter?

either way, championship teams play through injuries...so it really doesnt matter.

I guess I just have a problem with the blanket statement that the Kings WOULD HAVE WON had he not gotten hurt. That simply can't be determined.

Either way, if the Mavericks had lost the series, Maverick fans, myself included, would not have been bitchin and moaning playing, coulda, woulda, shoulda. We would have faded into NBA vacation like the rest of the teams that made the playoffs and are eliminated. Kings fans should be kicking C Webb in his arse since this was the best chance for them to win it all. 10 years from now, theyll still be thinking about what if?

Best chance missed them and you know the Lakers will finally improve the supporting cast and that team will have a chip on its shoulder next year.
