    How the hell...

does Dallas, a jump shooting team, get almost 50 FT attempts?

Oh yeah, Dallas is a bigger market than San Antonio.

Don't start up a stupid argument please. The Spurs won the championship a few yrs ago so the whole "bigger market" theorum goes to pot.

It's probably because of star calls or the Mavs actually tried to pound the ball. I wouldn't know cuz I personally didn't see game one but will be watching game 2.

They've been calling fouls on both ends. The Spurs have two guys that have fouled out and so do we.

I've been thinking the whole 2nd half, man we can steal this game if we stay close. Can we hold them off.

This game showed the Spurs are really young still. They cant maintain a lead and cant make their free throws. I still expect them to win it all, good game by Mavs, spectacular free throw shooting.

Well Spurs usually get a lot of FTs because of their inside game. Mavs today got about twice as many FTs as they've averaged all season.

It just seemed like the Mavs got all the benefit of the doubt, like the 5th foul on Duncan and then that Van Exel foul where he leaned in, inside the 3 point range and got 3 FTs.

The Mavs were more aggressive the second half. But they really didn't shoot well from the field. So those 49 points from the FT line basically won the game for them.

You're right, we didn't shoot it well from the field. I do feel like that was a foul on Duncan's 5th, clearly he pushed off on that rebound. I t may have been a little bit of a flop but everybody does that. Also, Nick's not the first one that has jumped into a defender on a jumpshot to draw contact. althouh he should have gotten only 2 shots but it didn't matter, they lost by 3.

Bottom line, the Spurs got tricked into an up tempo game in the first quarter. They played the Mavs game.

Coach Nelson deseves some kind of award for all of the chess like coaching he did tonight. The coaches always get flack, so let's give Don Nelson and his staff some credit. They really dictated the substitutions and kept Bowen out of the game the entire 4th quarter.
