So why isn't it a good move for them?

Re: Rasheed commits to the Celtics...
Rasheed is one of the easiest guys to guard for the Cavaliers and I'd assume it would be that same way for the Magic and Lakers as well.
At this point in his career, he's been nothing more than a soft 3pt shooter. If that was all the Celtics were looking for, then they are golden. He's still an adequate defender, but he is nothing near to what he was a couple of years ago.
The only way I think Sheed works is if you never play KG and Sheed at the same time or if you can limit Sheed at or below 20 mins per game. Between that and I don't really think his heart is in it anymore, from what I've seen the last year or so.
Major risk, but if he works then he can be a good signing, doesn't make them the big dog in the East, though.Too Old To Game Club

Re: Rasheed commits to the Celtics...
Rasheed also doesn't have to worry about Stuckey, Prince, or Kwame Brown of all people being non existent on Offense. And the fact that his Defense is still one of the best at his position(which is very rare to find among 95% of the PFs in the league)and thrn you add him to a team that prides itself on Defense and has 2 of the best Defensive Bigs in the game, I seriously doubt that the Magic, Lakers or Super Cavs are thinking they're going to be dealing with the same Sheed because that very well might not be the case.
And as long as he can do all of that off the bench, really can't see why people would call this anything but a good move.
Not saying much considering the fact that they were already a big dog in the East without him.Too Old To Game Club

Re: Rasheed commits to the Celtics...
You really have to tray hard to justify saying this is anything but a good move... I'm pretty sure an 85 year old Rasheed Wallace would be better than Mikki Moore

Re: Rasheed commits to the Celtics...
i think this is pretty good for sheed and the celtics.. he's still a pretty good defender, and can still be an effective scorer at times.. as to him not having his heart in it anymore, i think he'll get that back with kg and pierce as his teammates.. and also, he brings more experience to the team, something you can never have too much of..
i would've preferred it though if he signed with orlando.. just because i think he's needed there more.. but overall this is a good signing by the celts..Twitter: https://twitter.com/RapboYGT

Re: Rasheed commits to the Celtics...
And it very well could be that Sheed decides to not care or even that age catches up to him. And what's with the stupid "Super Cavs" comment? The Cavaliers are the second best team in the East...but whatever.
Too bad it's not a guaransheed that he will, far from it.
The Magic are the "big dog" until someone can prove otherwise.

The Celtics are in my top 3 most hated sports teams, but even I have to say that without KG, I give them a pass and with him still put them as A number 1's in the East...Comment

Re: Rasheed commits to the Celtics...
Man like I said earlier, good move for them if he comes off the bench and provide some defense off the bench for them but im pretty sure it didn't take a Rocket Scientist to tell him that he wasn't going to start when the Big 3, Rivers, and Ainge all met up with him. Bad move if he actually has to start over Perk and play more than 20-25 minutes.
If it's not a good move, it's a helluva lot better than any move they made this offseason while the other top 2 teams made moves to get their teams back to the Finals.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Rasheed commits to the Celtics...
Cavaliers: Their PF are clearly overmatched by Rashard Lewis and would be against KG as well. The backcourt is too small to be efficient against bigger players as well. Still need a stretch PF and a tall SG.
Magic: Their team has been pretty well gutted and only piece that has been replaced is Hedo-Vince. Lost a lot of size and a lot of depth on their bench.
Celtics: Old, old, OLD! KG is coming off a serious leg injury, Paul Pierce looked like he was 47 and Ray Allen is still aging not to mention signing the aging Sheed as well. Celtics bench is still really thin outside of Sheed and losing Powe and Big Baby is not going to help things.Too Old To Game Club
