Re: NBA Live 2004 Interview Questions

    Ok here goes:

-Will collision detection be more realistic when a player is driving to the basket? i.e. when someone is going for a layup or dunk will he be able to just go right through my defender and knock him down, and continue to layup/dunk as if my defender wasnt there at all. Or will there be more realistic contact?

-Will users be able to control the block animation? meaning, can i just try to get a hand in the shooters face or if I jump will my defender always **** his hand back to send it to the 10th row?

-will the coach models/faces look more realistic?

-is the dunk sound effect still in the game or is there a more realistic sound when a player dunks? What about the swoosh sound as a player is going up to dunk?

-Is the alley oop animation any different? i.e. does the player lob it more or throw it directly at the rim with 2 hands still?

-will there be loose ball over the back fouls?

-will players "fight" for positioin when trying to post up or post defend?

-will players with low jump/dunk ratings be able to pull off fancy jams?

-will there be more jumpshot or dribbling animations that more accurately represent the individuality of the NBA?

    -will there be lead passes?

-will there be more strategy? i.e. Teams like Sac or Dallas utilizing their deep benches, players attacking other teams star players that are in foul trouble, teams exploiting mis-matches, etc.

-will there be sort of a player tendency feature to ensure that the players play the same way as their real-life NBA counterparts?

-will there be any kind of system that lets you know if a player is hot or cold? If so will the cpu coach, try to keep his players that are hot on the floor whether they are starters or not?

-will players perform more realistic dunks and layups in traffic?

    -will there be rookie scouting?

-will the scouting reports be more detailed?

-will players be punished for having non-ballhandlers control the ball so much? i.e. If someone is trying to bring the ball up with Vlade Divac, my gaurds should be able to easily rip him.

-will there be a more variety of shots? i.e. Tony Parkers teardrop, more bank shots, lay-ins or bank shots when a player is like 1 or 2 feet from the basket instead of jumpers, etc.

-will there be career ending injuries or players that have chronic injuries(Grant Hill type situations)?

-will there be more realistic shooting percentages(in the low 40's high 30's if you are having a terrible game, mid 40's on the average, around 50 if your team is shooting lights out)?

-will the cpu teams be more realistic in the off season during franchises? i.e. will a team be able to somehow sign 4 all-star players like in 2003?

-Will there be a list of preferred teams for Free Agents who "refuse to sign"?

-Will there be a better playoff atmosphere?

-Will players like AI and Ben Wallace be able to have multiple hairstyles?

    -are 1 handed steals gone?

-will freestyle moves be toned down a little?

-will i be able to draw a charge everytime i'm being posted up by pressing the charge button?

    -will there be flagrant fouls?

    -will there pump fake passes?

    -will there be off-balance shots?

-will players try to free themseleves from defenders?

-will defenders sometimes try to deny someone the ball(not just in post situations, I mean like gaurds)?

-will there be set inbounding plays?

-will we still be able to make full court and cross court passes?

-during the draft can we view college players college stats?

I know I have a ton of questions, but if only some of them are answered i'll be happy

1.What exactly are the aspects of the gameplay will we be able to tweak with the sliders?
2.What will be the differences between the PC vs the console versions of the game?
3.What are the new aspects of the "Dynasty" mode compared to the aspects of the old "Franchise" mode?
4.What will be the official PC requirements for Live 2004?
5.Will there be "in-game" saves this year?
          Thanks

Re: NBA Live 2004 Interview Questions

              1. Will players be loyal to their team? Like if they get played alot and win a championship and they're upcoming free-agents.

              2. Is their a limit on how many years you can play Dynasty Mode?

              3. Are their signature shoes?

              4. Is blocking toned down?

              5. Is there an 'Instant-Replay' feature like when you make last-second shots that are questionable?

              6. Will we be able to beat team and NBA records? Will there be any special announcement on them like "Player just surpassed team record for points in a game with 70."?

              That's all for now. Thanks!

#1 - Will there be injuries that occur in games that are actually played(rather than the ones that are simulated)?

#2 - Are there player introductions before the game?

#3 - In the "Dynasty Mode", is there a feature to track the career achievements(ex. highest points/rebounds/assists/steal/etc.) for each player on the team that is selected by the user.

                  Thanks!

Re: NBA Live 2004 Interview Questions

                      - Elaborate on enhanced freestyle. What changes have been made and how will it impact the gameplay?
                      - Describe the new animations and AI logic, what impact will it have on the game? Will players without the ball move on screens (aka Reggie Miller, Rip Hamilton)? Will defense rotations and double teams occur and be realistic? Will players fight for position in the paint without the ball?
-What are championship graphics? Early impressions are the player models and jerseys were worked, however; the faces still look unrealistic.
                      Thanks....

                          1. Will defenders be able to block layups and dunks in Live 2004 rather than get knocked down and called for a foul each time like in 2003?

                          2. Will there be normal blocks that just deflect the shot rather than swat it out of bounds?

                          3. What elements other than slowing the pace of the game down did you add to make it more sim-like?

                          4. Did you change the defensive freestyle control so it gives the defender a better chance of stealing the ball or altering the offensive player's options?

                          5. Has freestyle been expanded to more than just dribbling and defending?

                          6. Are you confident that your graphics are going to be the best of all this year?

                          7. Have you acknowledged NBA 2K4 and ID 2004 as your biggest competitors and built the game around beating them, or are you just making a game on your own individual ideas?

Good luck EA! I'm very excited about the game you are bringing to us basketball fans this year. And last question, I'm a Graphic Design major. Do you have any recommendations for me to get myself involved in the videogame industry? Thanks.
