Can you pass out of lay-up or dunk animations? I've always liked to drive the lane, start into a lay-up to draw defenders, and dish off. Thanks Steve

Steve thanks for answering all of your questions. Couple of more if you don't mind.

Does the computer setup screens on offense? Do they double team on defense? Does the computer substitute players often? and how well?

Looking at your simmed season, I couldn't help but notice that ridiculous 3 PT FG% for Steve Nash. That is one thing that bothers me about games and the simmed stats. I'm doing this off the top of my head, but didn't T-Mac have like 24 triple doubles in your season as well.....he should be the MVP! And "the Answer" scoring like 38 PPG.....those things bother me when trying to go head to head against the CPU and earn those distinctions like MVP.

Steve, I'm new to the boards here and I'd like to ask you a question about the create-a-player on ID 2003...

if you're going to create a white guy, can you give him "spikey" hair or hair that just stands up in front???

stupid question, but I always like to create myself and I haven't seen a sports game where you can make a white guy who doesn't have flat hair, afro, or braids

            <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

There are about a dozen different hairs to choose from, but um....Spikey in the front wasn't an option.

              How is the rookie draft

Pretty much how is off-season, have there been any changes to make it better

              <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I really haven't played much franchise yet, I'll get some impressions down the road.

              Yes you can.

Well, during the draft you can see mugshots of the people being drafted in real time.

Not that I have noticed, but I haven't played w/ it much.

The tip dunks look good, and they don't come often. You will see more tip in's (not dunks) more than anything. You don't see many tip in dunks in real life, so seeing it constantly would suck IMHO.

During mid animation you can't do it. Maybe this will be addressed in the next Beta.

Yes, the AI is very intelligent about setting up screens on offense, plus you can manually call for a screen with the white button. Double teaming can be set up in the coaching options as well. By default, the CPU double teams in appropriate situations. Also, the AI opponent is very good at attempting to shut down hot players with a double team. The CPU subs at the right times and roster management is pretty good. Stamina doesn't scale to different quarter lengths, so if you play shorter quarters, your starters will play a larger percentage of the game. Of course, you can manually sub players yourself.

I would take those sim results with a grain of salt, since this is early beta. They have plenty of time to tweak out the simming part of things.

Does the step out fade away post move work 99% of the time? That really agravated me last year, when the shot would always go in. Is the crowd different? Are they all foldin their hands in their lap? Does the charge button work too much like last year? Are blocks alot harder?

Steve keep up the great work.

Does the computer GM's offer trades with draft picks?

How long does it take to sim an entire season in franchise mode?

Any chance you can take a nice pan shot of the Air Canada centre?

Are you able to save replays onto the hd?
