i'll most likely rent it first..then decide if i'm gonna cough up $20 for it..people on this board seem to really think it's good

this game is a great buy at $20!
ID `03`s strengths--
1. teams play like they do in real life. the mavz will run and gun. the spurs will post up etc..etc..
2. players will automatically run plays. technically you don`t really have to call plays in this game like you do in 2k3 because the AI does a GREAT job at half court offense. but the plays are so tight you`ll want to learn all of them!
3. player tendency sliders-- this is a feature that will allow you to make a certain player play the way you want him to. for example- if you want Duncan to look for more rebounds just move a slider and he will look for more rebounds.
4. player editor- you can adjust all of the attributes for every player. for example- if you think kobe is too fast just adjust his speed and he is now slower.
5. create a player- some will argue but the ID create a player feature is just better than the 2k3`s create a player feature. mainly because of the player tendency sliders.
6. AI- while not great it`s still the best AI of any BB game out right now.
ID 03`s weaknesses-
1. graphics- they`re not bad but they could have been better.
2. no online play- i know it sucks but again, the AI offers a good challenge.
3. at times you or the AI wil shoot a high percentage but not always. it`s pretty balanced in this regard. and ofcourse you can adjust the attributes.
4. i think the one on one and post up moves could have been a little better but their good enough. atleast their more effective than 2k3`s moves.
5. franchise mode could have been a little deeper but it`s good enough.
well that about raps it up for ID. again, great game and it really shines in TWO areas- gameplay and player editors/ sliders.
