<font color="red">AI was number one in steals, but that doesn’t mean he’s a great defender. Nowitzki has no D. He sucks as a Defender. AI is a more complete player than Dirk. And at least AI will play hurt while Nowitzki is a p***y for not even trying to come out and play when his team needed him when they were facing elimination!!!!</font>Comment

What...rebounds aren't the sole factor in determining a players defensive worth. Troy Murphy was tied for 7th in defensive rebounds with Brian Grant..you mean to tell me he is just a good as a defender??? You saying Dirk is a better defender than Grant, Martin, Marion, PJ Brown?????? It's clearly known by knowledgable NBA fans that Dirk's defense is offensive.Comment

I can understand you not liking him because of his practice habits and his off the court antics but, to this discredit him, for what he brings to the floor, on the court is plain and blatantly wrong. But if your gonna say some one is better than him, at least say someone that is worth an argument is better than him. Someone like KG, TD, or even Kobe, but Dirk???? Come on you got to be kidding me, he has Finley and Nash and still can’t get to the Finals. Give the little man credit, he’s the only one out of this list to take a team of bench players to the finals. Man no one is hating on iverson cause hes balck or hes from the hood. Its just that other people do have different opinions than you. I personally think Iverson is the better player right now but i think Dirk has a brighter future. All that pounding Iverson takes is bound to cathch up to him sooner or later and that might shorten his career. Dirk is 24 and still has not entered his prime. There are a lot of years for him improve and who else in the NBA creates as many mismatch problems than Dirk. For a 7 foor guy who can shoot and dribble like a shooting guard is pretty damn good. Dirk does need to really improve his defense but give him some time before saying he sucks. if u actually watch some Dallas games when he really tries to shut another guy down he usually succeeds. Dirk was also clutch in the playoffs leading his team to victory in both game 7s.
