      I'm not sure you understand AI, Charlotte is getting a NEW franchise called the Bobcats. The New Orleans Hornets will still exist with Baron and Mash, etc.

                  Yeah, it's expansion rules. Ironically the Hornets(and the Magic) screwed it for the expansion teams. The Hornets got LJ with the first pick in the first year and then got Zo with the second pick the year after. The Magic got Shaq and Penny both with #1 picks in back to back years.

                  Both teams got way too good way too fast so the NBA stopped giving expansion teams first picks.

The Hornets got LJ with the first pick in the first year and then got Zo with the second pick the year after. The Magic got Shaq and Penny both with #1 picks in back to back years.

                    Both teams got way too good way too fast so the NBA stopped giving expansion teams first picks.

                              HuH the Charlotte Hornets first draft pick was Rex Chapman 8th overall in 88. Miami, the other expansion team that came in with Charlotte got Rony Siekley 9th overall. The Hornets didn't have the no. 1 ovr pick till 91 when they got Johnson, then they got Zo in 92. Orlando didnt come in till 89, their first pick was Nick Anderson(11 ovr)
