Aint no way in the world MJ could get 15 in 20 minutes in the L right now.

That fadeaway would be getting blocked and contested on the reg. I saw both seasons of MJ in DC and towards the end of his 2nd yr that fadeaway was getting touched A LOT.

It doesn't take away any of his accomplishments, just dont want people to get carried away.

The rules change killed everyone those two years. Individual scoring was down, and everyone was struggling. The year after Jordan retired they instituted the current perimeter hand checking rules, and individual scoring rebounded.

Due to the hand checking rule, good defenders have been crippled, and free throws are given like candy at a parade. The fadeaway would have been deadlier under the current rules, as Jordan would have been more of a driving threat.

Kobe in his prime is not even close to the G.O.A.T. And to the guy above saying jordan couldnt play now, remember he averaged 20 a games and played 82 games when he came back out of retirement!

He couldn't play now, not effectively. No way.

Anyway, amazing how the great ones get such good separation from the D on their shot.

ppl fail to realise how f'n smart AIR was (is) as a ball player. note how he adjusted his move and shot after getting fouled. his DC days were considered an accomplishment in my eyes because they were playoff contenders and he was injured for most of his time there. and still averaged 20. the nba is filled with alot of dumb azz players. AIR would easily be able to compete so as long as he could stay relatively healthy and on a decent team...

No one is denying how smart he is. It's just the fact that when he was in DC, he couldn't get them into the playoffs in a terrible conference, was an historically inefficient 20ppg scorer, and his defense had fallen way way off. And you think he would be OK 6 years later in a much more improved league from top to bottom? Six years is a long time.

Ill say they would've made it had he not gotten injured at the same time Rip also pulled his groin muscle, but I will say this

If you have to rely on a 38 year old to make it to the playoffs you have other problems and its not him

Didn't he put that team together? If so, then it was him, haha. In the office and on the court.

yeah he had a part in it, but as I said they were on their way to the playoffs until he injured his knee and Rip pulled his grion

You and me both. That fade-away is pure beauty.
