Yup... ID 2003 does indeed rock. By far IMO the greatest basketball simulation ever made. 2004 looks of the hook.

Re: I\'m a season late but Inside Drive 2003 ROCKS!!!
yeah, i just got this game on tuesday (traded in nba2k3) and man, i feel so silly. I read post after post all year long on these boards that stated this game was tight and i was to biased toward nba2k to listen. now a whole nba season has past with me fumbling around with slider adjustment after slider adjustment to no avail with 2k and the game that i was looking for was right there ALL YEAR LONG, nba inside drive!
basketball is my favorite sport by far and i haven't seen any game to this point, make me feel the way inside drive does as far as gameplay. i usually don't play basketball games in july as the football season approaches but this year may be different. trust me next year will be different i will get this game the first day of release (especially after seeing the new pics for ID2004) I'll give 2k a chance because VC is usually very good to listening to hardcore sim heads and fixing glitches and gameplay mechanics but, i think i finally found the b-ball franchise that i've been looking for.
Positives- (really to many to mention but, here r some)
-lots of motion, teams play like they do in the nba. i was in heaven when i saw Iverson, set up on the baseline without the ball and then run his man through several screens to get open
for a shot just like he does in real life (u won't see this ever in 2k)
-smarter d, double teaming traps etc.
-smooth gameplay and one on one interaction. i don't need to use a crossover to blow by a bigger slower defender. this is was very refreshing to see.
there r just 2 many positives to mention, this game is just awesome.
negatives (alot of u guys had stated these before but, i thought these issues would be bigger than they turned out to be, they should be addressed in ID2004)
-arenas r 2 dark
-off. rebounds needs to be toned down a little (2 many)
-2 many blocked shots, not too bad but could be tweaked a little.
-arenas/environment/announcing is very drab, needs to be greatly improved
-not that many animations both off. and def., but i must say that step back move into a jump shot, from out of the post up position has got to be the best animation in the game it looks so real.
all in all it's been a bitter sweet experience the past week. i wish i could have had this game to play during the actual nba season, but at the same time i finally got to experience a game that hasn't had me this hype about video game b-ball since lakers vs. celtics, even though i missed the season.
i guess its better late than never!

Re: I\'m a season late but Inside Drive 2003 ROCKS!!!
It's true. I had NBA 2k3 and enjoyed it, but after picking up ID 2003 last week I must say it is a more enjoyable experience. After roasting a few teams by 20 points, I got beat by GS by six because I couldn't execute and their style of play was different. This never happens in 2K3- you just beat everyone because everyone plays the same. I'm loving ID 2003!!!Comment

I am also in the "didnt you get the memo" camp... i read all year long about how good it was but i stuck to 2K3, even though i just got it and its excellent, im already tired of basketball till next season so Im not really able to enjoy it.
Next year, i wont be buying just one bball game.Comment
