The top 10 lottery busts of the last decade

    The List:
    1. Darko Milicic, Detroit Pistons, taken second overall in 2003
    2. Entire 2000 NBA draft
    3. Kwame Brown, Washington Wizards, taken first overall in 2001
    4. Nikoloz Tskitishvili, Denver Nuggets, taken fifth overall in 2002
    5. Adam Morrison, Charlotte Bobcats, taken third overall in 2006
    6. Rafael Araujo, Toronto Raptors, taken eighth overall in 2004
    7. Yaroslav Korolev, Los Angeles Clippers, taken 12th overall in 2005
    8. Rodney White, Detroit Pistons, taken ninth overall in 2001
    9. Kedrick Brown, Boston Celtics, taken 11th overall in 2001
    10. Yi Jianlian, Milwaukee Bucks, taken sixth overall in 2007

I dont why this dude put Yi up there, and if adam is up there, J.J Redick should be up there too.

It's too early to label Yi a bust imo

Yeah, Yi hasn't been exceptionally good or bad. It may just be the hype that did him in, but he came on pretty well toward the end of last year and parts of his rookie season. I'd need to give him time to tell. Redick was more of a bust thus-far.

I like the selection of the 2000 NBA Draft. Besides Martin, not many contributors in the lottery. Only 3 All-Stars and one Most Improved Player. The best picks in that draft for players still active are #16 and #43 (Turkoglu and Redd), and only #1 (Martin) and #19 (Magloire) were All-Stars in addition to Redd. I think Martin has been decent, but I'm not familiar with the expectations prior to being drafted.

Kwame will never live down MJ's poor judgement, but unlike the other guys on that list, Brown at least has a place in this league. He's become a tremendous on-ball defender in the post.

              Darko and Morrison

And Luke Jackson was a monumental waste of a lottery pick.

Jay Williams. He whined, his mother whined. Had a decent year. Then hit a tree on his motorcycle. Then we had to draft Kirk Hinrich.

Re: The top 10 lottery busts of the last decade

How about every first round pick this decade for the Cleveland Cavaliers outside of LeBron James and maybe JJ Hickson?

                    Luke Jackson

I'm sure I'm forgetting someone else.

Shannon Brown? How? Because he didn't do anything for the Cavs?
                      Concrete evidence/videos please

Isnt Shannon Brown a very late first round pick so he wont count cuz hes not a lottery pick. Plus he is doing a damn good job being a laker.

Correct, because I expect him to be great.
