I think Rod Thorn will do whatever it takes to keep Kidd here. Hopefully, they can pull off a trade to bring in a SG who can create off of the dribble and isn't afraid to have the ball in his hands. And their center situation will be taken care of. I think theres a 65% chance he'll stay.

Kidd will stay because it would be unfair to have the two smartest basketball players on the same team. Seriously though, I think that it's a pretty close call. In NJ, he gets much more media attention thru the NY media and an up and coming team that is only getting better and should win the East next year. Going to SA though allows him to play with one of the greatest centers of all tiime.

      <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

It is possible that he might not sign back in NJ because they would not stand a chance next year year. With MAVS, SAC, SA and LA on the horizon it will be difficult for NJ. And I really wish Mutombo get out from NJ because Scott screws him big time.
And also NJ will find a tough time with MIL next time. So Kidd's future with NJ winning a title within 3 years is difficult. And with the best veterans signing with either SA, MAVS, SA and SAC, it will be much more difficult. With the West teams low post improve, NJ must also improve there perimeter as good a MAVS perimeter so they can counter the low post. Currently NJ has inconsistent perimeter so expect them to be eaten again.

Your clueless. First of all, whatever problem you think Mutumbo has with Scott is total nonsense. He played him throughout the finals once he realized he could help out. No need to use him against the Celts or Pistons because ummmm.. we swept them.

And whatever you were babbling about with perimeter defense or something...... how will that affect Kidd staying in NJ? He's not going to the Mavs, he's not going to Sac, he's not going to LA, and he may go to SA, but I don't think it will be because of poor perimeter defense by NJ.

And the Bucks will never challenge for a title with George Karl running the team.

I'd love to see Kidd remain on the Nets but I'm always afraid what could happen to the Nets as a whole organization. With the inability of the franchise in getting support for a new building, Kidd possibly leaving, Byron possibly leaving and lack of committment to the team (although I often read that Jordan is the reason for the success of the Nets offense) after reading an article on the NYT about how he would love to coach the Lakers if given a chance, which also brings the point of a possibility of Eddie Jordan leaving for a head coaching job as well as some of the Nets upper management leaving. Also, w/ the Pistons having Larry Brown and Darko, it might be tougher for them to get into the Eastern Conf finals again next year.

Spurs obviously don't need Kidd. They're not a running team and that is where Kidd thrives.

The thing is, as good as he is, I'm not sure which teams will give a PG a max contract at this stage. Kidd definitely led the Nets' rise, turning them from doormats to Eastern Conference champs last year.

If someone gives Kidd a max contract, it would have to partly depend on him helping to sell tickets as much as helping the team. I think Denver could be a good situation for him because they have a lot of young talent, especially in the front court. He could go there and get some of their young guys a lot of easy baskets on the fast break like he did for Martin and Jefferson. They'd be a lousy half-court team too but they'd be a fun-to-watch running team.
