Build around the Superstar:

I was reading the Durant thread and Born said something that got me thinking, I'm also in a fairly indepth Fantasy League where we actually build teams based on all the players intangibles...catch and shoot guys, ball stoppers, etc etc...

anyway.

I would like to see how you guys would build around a super star.

For My entry I'm going to build around Lebron.

Keep in mind that the players you select will play how they are playing on their current teams...these are "ideal" circumstances...so trying to say Kobe/Lebron on the same team obviously wouldnt work as they all want and need to have the ball in order to be succseful...

SF: Caron Butler
PF: LeBron James
C: Rasheed Wallace

I think this would be the ideal way to use lebron and get the most out of his talents... a defensive minded tam with good perimiter shooting, and no ball stoppers... 3 players out of that lineup can get thier own shot, and three can catch and shoot...also Caron and Lebron are good rebounders for SF's while rahseed is a decent rebounder as well as a good post defender.

Caron and Sheed are the ultimate ball stoppers

CLE has set up LBJ with a decent squad in terms of building around his strengths, he just needs a few upgrades. Ferry did not do that at all this Summer IMO.

Caron/Jamison/Gil are the ultimate ball stoppers.

I love Caron out of those 3, but yeah they're all black holes.. whether it's their fault or their previous coaches.

Sheed is a good passer with nice vision but still doesn't mean he's not a ball stopper.

Nice, although Lebron and Caron might take a beating on the block against a big team night in and night out.

6th Man: Shane Battier

Jefferson and D-Wade make a nice inside outside combo. Wade and Jack are a solid defensive backcourt. Battier comes in to defend SF/PF tweeners. Ideally I would want 3pt shooters on my bence at the point guard position and at SF.

bargnani wont rebound much, but with aldridge and marion in their with him he wont need to. those guys could both potentially average over 10 boards. what bargs is gonna do is add another shooter and get you about a block per game... surround cp3 with guys who can shoot and you have a winner! with cp3 at the point dishing to them all 4 guys i listed with him are threats to average 20 ppg...
