Re: One more scenario to ponder in a Spurs signing

It could very well happen if SA decides they want to wait for it. They have young up and coming stars, TD who hasn't reached his prime yet, and alot of cap space. This could be very good for a guy like KG, and he'd have the help and players around he needs to be successful. The rest would be up to him.

One thing for sure is, Minny had better do something with KG not signing an extension, and if they don't do something, they could lose him for nothing at all. SA would seem to be a great fit for him in wanting to win a ring.

from what i understand t-mac comes up next year as well. of course it sounds unrealistic right now but hey you never know. tmac+duncan>shaq+kobe

no matter what they do it's going to be great. they have a chance to add an elite player to the nba champs. robinson was great in the locker room and a presence on D but only averaged like 9 pts and 8 rebs this year.

i'm sure with all the cap room the spurs have they could get that out of someone AND add a top free agent to the team, so in effect they wouldn't be losing anything.

option 1-kidd, olowakandi and resign stephen jackson.

option 2-jermaine o'neal.

option 3-elton brand (if the clippers would let him go)

option 4-sign someone like pj brown, mourning or karl malone to a 1 year deal and go after tmac, kobe, or kg next year.

BRING ON THE DYNASTY!!!

Here's the thign with Jason Kidd.
The main reason the Spurs would go after him this season, & they will from all indications, is to have that 2nd Super star to match the Fakers 2 stars in Kobe & Shaq.
Kidd also is a better court general than Parker, Parker is a scorer & attacker, but not too great @ setting up his teamamtes for easy buckets or transition pts.
Kidd excells @ that.
If we sign Kidd, Parker won't be traded or benched, he'll be moved to the SG position.
People say it would be a mistake to go after Kidd b/c we have Parker & Claxton (a free agent) already, but that's the samething people were saying when we had the #1 pick & were going tot ake Duncan. They said 'why take Duncan when u already have DROB, get a PG, more pressing need." We'll we know how that turned out, when u have a shot @ a star player, u don't pass it up. Parker is this team future PG & he'll get even more dangerous with Kdd as a mentor to teach him the little thing sabout being a PG.

Excellent post TM. I agree wholeheartedly. If the Spurs can get Kidd without trading anybody, your prediction might actually come true.

Wow a good post by Skillz! I guess that could work out. Maybe put Duncan at C and Rose at PF then Bowen at SF, Manu at SG, and Kidd at PG. Scary with Jackson, Parker, and Claxton off the bench. Maybe they'll have some left over money too to get a big man to backup Duncan or Rose.

as a spurs fan the thing that cracked me up about the 97 draft was pitino thinking the spurs were stupid for not trading him the #1 for the #3 and #6. HAHAHA!

chauncey billups and ron mercer on the spurs??? no thanks we'll take two championships instead!
