Seattle had the best individual talent. Payton, Kemp, Schrempf and Hawkins makes a great starting five. You got defense, shooting, athleticism, explosiveness and impressive size at front court, what else do you need?

Suns and Jazz were equally tough on Bulls. I would rate Portland somewhere around them too, maybe a little lower.

So, I'm stuck between Seattle, Suns and Jazz. Even though I like Suns most, I'll say Seattle.

I liked destiny team, suns had an incredible playoff year down 0-2 to the lakers then spurs - sonics with barkley and KJ at their best.

All Suns affiliation aside.....Phoenix/Chicago was the best series out of all of them.

None of the teams that lost in the Finals were...all of those years the league's 2nd best team also resided in the East

Key Players: Charles Barkley, Dan Majerle, Kevin Johnson, Richard Dumas, Cedric Ceballos, Tom Chambers, Danny Ainge

At that point, who knows what would have happened. (*We all know what would have happened. Jordan would go for 45 with 26 coming from the free throw line and they still win the title. But it would have been interesting to see.)
John Paxson ripped my 12 yr old heart out (like that dude on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom).

If you don't say the Suns/Bulls was the best you need your head examined. First, it was the TWO BIGGEST stars of the decade going up against each other. Barkley was HUGE in the early/mid 90's. His popularity (Right Guard/Barkley vs Godzilla nike ad campaign) was at an all-time high.

I was a HUGE Barkley fan. He was the anti-Jordan and I loved it.

Jordan HAD TO avg 41.0 ppg over the 6 gm contest to give Chicago the win. That set the framework for some of hist most memorable performances.

I mean look at the final scores.

              Game 1
              100-92 Bulls

              Game 2
111-108 Bulls (Pippen rejection of a last second Ainge shot seals it).

              Game 3 - TRIPLE OVERTIME
              129-121 Suns win; series 2-1.

              Game 4 - Jordan scored 55pts
              111-105 Bulls win; series 3-1.

Game 5 - Barkley's - "Win to save the city of Chicago (from riots)"
              108-98 Suns win; Series 3-2.

Game 6 - Paxson's last second shot to go up by 1 and win it.
              99-98 Bulls win Finals.

This was THE MOST action packed Jordan series ever.

Heading into it there was an underlying feeling that Jordan would get a run for his money and he did. I never, after this Finals, felt that Jordan would lose again. Utah would make a valiant effort, but I don't think (other than Jazz fans) anyone felt Utah stood a chance to win either Finals. They had some really close games, but I never felt they'd win it. Maybe just me though.

When I went to Chicago last month, I was walking through downtown. I came across a Sports Authority that had like five levels. Outside, I saw a hand imprint plaque for John Paxson. I spit on it, then took a picture.

                  **** him.

I was a huge Shawn Kemp fan back in those days, so the bias in me says '96 Sonics.
