it seems that every Duke star alum that looks to have a promising career in the NBA ends up falling.

    -Johnny Dawkins
    -Bobby Hurley
    -Christan Lattner
    -Shane Battier
    -Grant Hill
    -Danny Ferry
    -Jay Williams
    -Wo-Jo!
    -Jeff Chapels
that might exaplain why recently alot of recruit are jumping the boat on Duke University....

i think a few of those players were projected to be anything special...like JDawk and especially Wo-Jo...please...lol. Grant Hill was the man before he got hurt. like peopel said, Elton Brand is a very good player. Maggette is a nice player who can be better. i dunno about Hurley. he didn't play enough before his accident. Laettner was putting up numbers when he first got into the L. and Battier would be a much better player on a good team. his skills and leadership is not suited for a dreadful team like Memphis.

When did WoJo have a promising career in basketball, at any level? I think you're joking, but not sure.

Duke players do tend to struggle in the NBA. Brand is a good player, and Maggette has potential, but other than that its pretty empty. Laettner hasn't been good in years, and is awful now. I'll wait and see on Dunleavy. Will Avery should be on the list somewhere too. Whatever happened to him?

I hate to call Hurley and Williams busts considering their circumstances.

exactly and laettner did make the all star team while a twolve. hurley u cant really say anything about cuz of his car accident, nad wojo never even tried to play nba he basically knew he was going into coaching. this is what people have to resort to though. because they cant say duke is a bunch of thugs, or they cheat, or they even dont graduate players. they reload and are one of the top teams in the country every yr so people have to resort to saying well duke players suck in the nba. that might be true but after their playing days are over they still are all set in the job market .

I think that they're saying the players are jinxed, be it car crashes or injuries or whatever. Not what they would have done if they were not injured. More like the curse of the Bambino.
