Doesn't Vegas allow bets to be placed on NBA Games legally? If so, then there's one city you can rule out.

Spencer Hawes held it down for the city of Seattle when the Kings traveled to Oklahoma City to play the Thunder... he dressed in Sonics colors and had the Space Needle on his Tie...

I'm sorry. But California is always in the news talking about going bankrupt. Letting people out of jail early because of the cost. They've got way bigger issues than puting an NBA team on their welfare rolls. If they gotta go, they gotta go. The NBA or the owners need to fix their own problems instead of asking the public to do it.

in most situations the city's economy is boosted by sports teams... it creates jobs, also brings thousands of people at a time to local business spending money in the area surrounding an arena... this is why it is not only the team's problem but also the city/county/state... I know that while team's lose money, the cities and states are making money... honestly, people who have nba basketball in their cities who are true hoop fans don't want to have to go through what I just had to go through... really I am still not over the Sonics leaving... I probably never will be over it until we get a new team.... it is a priviledge to have nba basketball in your city...

It creates some jobs. But not as much as people claim when they are trying to get one built. They exaggerate greatly the economic impact.

I don't think multi-millionaires in a billion dollar industry should be looking for public assistance to make even more money. The sad thing is, even though a community might do the right thing, another locale is going to be willing to do the wrong thing. If the city/state is going to build some franchise a place to stay, then that locale needs to have say-so in how the team is operated.

Could any of us get the city to build us a garage so that we can open up a body shop? Build an office so that we can start a practice? Why commit 9 figures to a building & then have no involvement or guarantee the franchise will stay past 10 years?

Or you could move them to St. Louis. That'd be a GREAT NBA market IMO.

Arco Arena is a dump. Went there for the NCAA tournament almost 3 years ago and it was a joke of an NBA arena. This coming from somebody who had to sit through games at the sub-par Key Arena.
