I heard on ESPN radio today about some suggestions they had on the NBA.

They said that they should bring down the number of games to around 60 games or so. They think that the NBA season is way too long.

They also said that instead of sixteen teams making the playoffs, only eight teams should make it, four from each conference. This way they think all of the teams will play hard to win every game.

They also said that if some teams know that they won't make the playoffs by January or February, they will just start losing interest to get a good draft pick. He said the draft should go like this: 1st pick goes to the non-playoff team that has the best record. So lets say the T'Wolves don't get into the playoffs but have the best record out of any other team that has not made the playoffs, then the Wolves would get the 1st draft pick. And the rest of the draft would follow in that sense. So the worst team in the league gets the 21st pick, and the worst team in the playoffs gets 22nd pick. The champions would get the final pick.

Anyone agree with these suggestions. I say don't mess up a good thing and keep it the way it is.

I dunno if I like that. Maybe the shorter season thing, although that would make these long summers of waiting for bball even longer. Which would suck. I don't like the draft idea at all. It totally elimates the chance of the worst teams in the L getting better thru the draft, which most bad teams try to do. And 4 teams in each conference going to the post-season? That's an interesting one, but I'd probably rather just stick with what we got.

There are too many people that want to change things up. Just leave it the way it is. I like it.

I dunno if I like that. Maybe the shorter season thing, although that would make these long summers of waiting for bball even longer. Which would suck. I don't like the draft idea at all. It totally elimates the chance of the worst teams in the L getting better thru the draft, which most bad teams try to do. And 4 teams in each conference going to the post-season? That's an interesting one, but I'd probably rather just stick with what we got.

i dunno about all that. i have been thinking though....seeing all these teams that stockpile top 10 draft picks and still never amounting to anything. and i wonder if teams that were actually good or caught in the middle of being good and not good(the middle) would be suit better with these picks instead. in a way, i do want the team that would have the last lottery pick to get the #1 pick sometimes. that way the player is in a better environment and might be able to produce better and faster. but that's just me.
