    Best backup at each position?

Who do you guys think are the best backups in the NBA? Who is the very best at each position?

    Here are my picks:

    PG: Kirk Hinrich
    SG: Ben Gordon
    SF: Lamar Odom
    PF: Paul Millsap
    C: Joel Pryzbilla

really dudes like gordon, odom, and millsap shouldn't count... especially odom and gordon.. they are both better then the guy starting over them...a

Not true with Odom, and is debatable for Ben Gordon now that he is in Detroit.

Anyone else see Paul Millsap being as dominant as Carlos Boozer, except better?

        yeah over who?

J.R. Smith should be a starter, but somehow keeps coming up short.

And Birdman is nowhere near as good as Millsap overall. Energy, yes. Blocks, yes. thats it, no, hairstyle, hell no.

He always plays with energy and is a big factor down low. Thats what i want in a big. But u r probably right. millsap is nice. And yea j.r. should b starting but hes not. So throw him up there. Unless we bring up Ginobli........ damn, sometimes i forget to take off the homer shades. lol

Birdman is a center, so he would be instead of Pryzbilla.

Not sure how this work for 2009-10, but Manu Ginobili is much better than Roger Mason or Michael Finley, so I would put him at SG. I think Ramon Sessions is too good of a PG to be backing up the rookie Jonny Flynn in Minnesota.

                G: Marquis Daniels

I thought Sheed or Z would be a shoe in for backup C.

you don't think odom is better than ron artest? odom is not as good of a defender, but when it comes to rebounding and scoring, odom is better... he might not score as much as ron did playing on garbage teams like sac, but he can score in more ways and more efficiently imo... and rebounding it's no question... plus lamar can play the 3 or the 4, and also bring the ball up for you...

IMO rip hamilton is not as good as people think he is... being on that dominant detroit team made him look a lot better then he really is...

and I do see potential in millsap, but a healthy boozer is still a couple steps ahead...

Yes. Based off last year Millsap closed the gap quickly. We shall see if Boozer returns to form from his nagging injuries.

I like your thinking, however you need to leave Gordon off by your logic.
And instead of Daniels, I'll take Nate Robinson, Jamal Crawford, DJ Augestine, and Rudy Fernandez

Jarret Jack may be the best PG off the bench. Love him as a bench player.

I always view certain players as starters and certain players as bench players. J.R. Smith is a guy who I would never start but would play 30+ minutes for me.

                            why not start him tho?

i'm one of those dudes who believes the best dudes should start... i hate seeing inferior players start over better guys... i can't believe denver is about to make him come off the bench again...
