Re: AI/Grizzlies agree to terminate contract
I have this feeling a team will sign him because of injury later in the season. I don't see any possible way he doesn't play this year as out of hand as this situation has gotten.Comment

Re: AI/Grizzlies agree to terminate contract
Yep, he'll get signed. Not worried about it at all. Someone will go down and he'll get starter's minutes and will work himself into a contract next season.
That's the fairytale version in my head... may not happen, but someone can definitely use a 20+ PPG scorer when their guard goes down... and that's almost inevitable.
In other news, how many teams are kicking themselves for not realizing/remembering that Earl Boykins was available? Wiz are looking smart as hell right now, dude's playing very well and always gives such a big boost to the crowd when he comes in.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Because Earl was doing work until he vanished out of thin air.
I have a feeling Earl maybe wanted more money? The guy was a very productive bench player.Comment

Re: AI/Grizzlies agree to terminate contract
Haha, all these DC avatars are messing me up. I'm about to join ya'll though and add to the confusion.
Yeah he was a free agent after signing with the Bobcats in 07-08 and nobody signed him so he went and played in Italy. He got $3.5 mil over there and was actually that league's highest-paid player, which is cool. But yeah, glad to have dude back.. so fun to watch and the Wiz really need him with all their injury issues that pop up every year. One of the best change-of-pace guards in the league.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: AI/Grizzlies agree to terminate contract
I was wondering what became of Earl Boykins....
As far as A.I> goes...you have to ownder how much he really has left.
Dont you?
This is a all time guy, who can still score some,.
You can get him, essentially for free for the next 5 months, and no one seems remotely in a hurry to do it.Comment

Re: AI/Grizzlies agree to terminate contract
Just crazy the way it went down for a guy who has been here and has been such a big part of the community since freakin' 2002 (for good or ill, I know those "female" threads were toeing a line with me personally).. Pretty weak to red card him and ban him for nothing specific. Don't want to take this thread off-topic though.
Aside from San Antonio who always have an injured guard or two, who else do you think are likely to need AI's services this year? I'm thinking the Kings mainly -- pair him with Evans for a nice tandem that covers some of AI's defensive issues and replaces Martin's scoring. Injury aside, I still like the Bobcats (especially now with Jackson there too, he and Wallace on the wings would make up for AI's size defensively), the Heat (they need someone else to go to the paint aside from D-Wade... buncha jumpshooters there, especially their bigs), the Knicks (why the hell not?... their guards are horrendous, though that's apparently not happening), and the Nets (can't stay healthy, desperately need scoring, pairing AI with Harris when he's back will be a good way to cover AI's defensive weakness).Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment
