Re: ___ Becomes The Fastest To Reach ______ (Insert Milestone)
They are trying to turn this game into the MLB statistical crap where every game is the first of its kind. I hate that crap too. The youngest/oldest/darkest/dumbest/tallest/smallest/hardest/highest mess has to go. If they did it according to amount of games or in regards to season, I'm all for it. As of right now, that mess can chill. Does ESPN spearhead this statistical stuff??Comment

Ha, yeah, that makes sense. I mentioned Josh Smith because I was watching the Hawks the other day and they said something about "the youngest to reach however-many blocks" The room didn't exactly erupt in applause.Comment

Re: ___ Becomes The Fastest To Reach ______ (Insert Milestone)
It's pretty clear that they aren't going to burn out at 29-30, so years in the league are irrelevant.
If Lebron or Kobe came into the league at 21 or 22 they'd have been MVP candidates immediately instead of waiting a few years.Comment

I think players should go to college and learn to be the man in college. Learn how to play down the stretch and have to make shots against a zone designed to stop them. Learn how to make inferior players better.Comment

Re: ___ Becomes The Fastest To Reach ______ (Insert Milestone)
True that, capone. Kobe still didn't get it until he was like 28 or 29 with over a decade of NBA experience and 3 rings to his name. You really think he would have improved his game as much in college from 18-22 than in the NBA from age 18-22? I think that if he had gone this route, he'd have (maybe) 1 National Championship, and the same NBA Championship that he just got last year. If you're doing the math, that adds up to 3 rings that don't end up in Kobe's trophy case. Any MVP awards? I doubt it, if you consider that his could have EASILY gone to Chris Paul or LeBron, but went to Kobe basically because of "Time Served". And by that same logic, if you take away 4 years of Kobe's career and put it in College, that takes away from his Time Served in the NBA, which IMO was a major factor in his MVP award, so maybe, JUST MAYBE, Kobe NEVER wins an MVP if he had gone the Tim Duncan route......Comment

How so? Kobe was a role player his first couple years. Lebron was playing on a horrible team.

Kobe would not have just came to the NBA at 22 years old dominating. Neither would Lebron. You come in, you learn from your mistakes and all the experiences you get only from playing in the NBA.
Whether you played in high school, college, over seas, or any other league before entering the NBA, you will be going thru an adjustment. Had Lebron entered the NBA in the 07 draft instead of 03 he might not be as good as he is right now.Comment

Re: ___ Becomes The Fastest To Reach ______ (Insert Milestone)
Yeah it's garbage DC. The only thing that makes me more heated is when they drop something like,
"Player X is the 3rd player in history to have a season with 2000pts, 800 rebounds, 500 assists, 200 steals, 100 blocks"
Or
"He is only the Xth player to shoot over 50% from the field, 40% from the 3pt line & 90% from the line"Comment
