    Hornets fire Byron Scott

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4648162

In my book, this may blow up in the Hornets face. Just like it did to the Nets when they fired him and replaced him with Lawrence Frank. The Nets still haven't recovered from that.

u beat me by like 1 minute on this post i double posted this article by accident i didnt see your post.

hornets are pretty badly run they dont try and put a winning product or when they do sign someone its not a good signing.

lakers will consider getting byron scott as coach next year when phil jackson leaves

Isn't this kind of a knee-jerk reaction? I don't personally know New Orlean's situation (other than they are losing games), but doesn' it seem like it is too early in the season for this?

Wow, didn't see that coming. I don't feel it was the right move. Look at the roster, they don't even have a real shooting guard! If you look at the Hornets squads that made the playoffs, that team wasn't that impressive either. It was amazing that Chris Paul led them that far, but it's not working right now.

They need some new players, and I'm not talking Bobby Brown and Marcus Thornton. Chris Paul and David West are the only offensive threats on the team, what did they expect out of them?

How about the Hornets' ownership/management fire themselves for wasting a few of CP3's young years.

No coach could make this team a contender.

Hopefully he'll be ready to take the job here in LA in a few seasons.

I knew it was coming but this is the front office using B Scott as a scapegoat for the poor player moves and horrible contracts... The lack of identity hurts them and people coulld say its his fault but you cant build a team with out the right tools available... when Devon Brown is your scoring option as a peremiter player how do you expect the team win...

During the Suns game last night they cut to Byron Scott and I said "he's getting fired". I'm surprised it was this early but its for the best.

He lost the team last season, IMO. I think most of the players started to tune him out.

Mess around and he will be LA's coach after this season. I dont see Phil coaching much longer.

A bit of a rash decision on N.O.'s part but that's par for the course with a bad ownership/front office. Byron Scott will find work again and most likely in LA.

Wow. This will haunt them for the next few years. I really wont be surprised if CP3 request a trade in a year or too. Byron Scott gets axed while Mike Dunleavy still has a job? that just shows how poor the hornets front office is.

This squad never underachieved under Byron Scott. They were not given the talent to compete. They can't even put five legitimate starters on the floor.

I hope Byron gets hired somewhere else soon. Technically, they can't fire Woodson in Atlanta because he's technically doing a good job, but if I were the GM out there, I'd pull the trigger, lol. Woodson barely runs an offense out there, and I think a guy like Byron could show the league the potential of that roster.

I realize the Hawks are playing well, and that the above statements seem contrary to that.

Yeah. The fact Dunleavy is still coaching over anyone is a ****ing joke.

I have a feeling that next week we'll see a thread here that says "Nets fire Lawrence Frank".
