Hilarious. Many players in the league need to stop already. I mean, seeing guys like Dwade/DHoward with no tats (visible anyway) almost makes him look odd. What is funny is many of these dudes out in the street look like ex-cons, especially in settings where people would not immediately know they were professional athletes/millionaires...

I just never understood how these millionaires have the worst possible ink jobs. It's like they would have to purposely pick a back alley shop.

I always say.. if I were an athlete my skin would be brimming. Hell I like what I have and I don't even have a real job.

It's crossed my mind to get a gig designing celeb tattoos. Clearly they aren't getting the cream of the crop to design their stuff, but I'm beginning to wonder if they *want* good tatts,

Actually I'm with you on that. Just my .02 but it seems like they want more "street cred" by getting cheaper looking ink and crappy looking artwork/sayings.

Either that or they got it done when they were like 16 by one of the homies.

I think for some of them, there is a "jail tat" look that they want. I'd be more useful when they want a portrait of their kids, something cool looking, or something imaginative.

Rick Reilly can go back to his country club and play another 18. I really don't give a buck what he has to say about anything. The dude doesn't even like sports.

I miss the Life of Reilly in Sports Illustrated. I've just never felt the Point Afters. He has always been an entertaining read for me, even in spite of his being a Colorado Avalanche fan.

Well with "writers" and "columnists" these days you can't really take them seriously.

They all have their angles and agendas which is what their employers make them have.

For articles like these I enjoy Reilly. Now when he tries to break down a game or a series or anything of that nature he can gtfo

Exactly so why does Rick Reilly write for ESPN? I hate that d-bag.

Because he's the best shock jock writer in the business not named Bill simmons.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

For the haters who says he shouldnt be on ESPN....

Are we not or are we hearing his name? That alone makes him successful.

Okay....no one was debating whether he was read. The arguement was about his utility as a writer. He doesn't like sports. He writes from a perspective that most fans with free time and money equate with. He is very relevant and that is why I hate the D-bag. He personifies everything that I think is wrong with sports (moral judgements about players as people being the biggest issue).
