Yeah, wasn't the Raptors the second worst defense in the league that season?

When Kobe or Jennings can you something like this against a solid defense then I'll be impressed:

Maybe not, but is a PG only measured by the number of assists they average? Derrick Rose's assists numbers will go up, so I'm not worried about his average 9 games into the season.

Also, only 15 players averaged more assists than Rose last season. Only two were above 10 apg, six were above 8 apg, and ten were above 7 apg. Of those 15, the only players with less than 5 years of experience were Rondo, Williams, Paul and Felton.

This does not change the fact that he is a better scorer than distributor...

Jason Kidd can dominate a game without scoring, Chris Paul can dominate a game without scoring, D-Will can dominate a game without scoring, Rose has to score a lot to dominate a game... There is nothing wrong with that, no need to be in denial about it...

If you ask 10,000 basketball fans, what is Derrick Rose more likely to do, average 22 points, or average 10 assist, I bet the majority will say he is more likely to average 22 points...

It's kinda like when you do my-player on NBA 2K10, and you pick a play style...

pass first, scoring, defensive, 3pt specialist, athletic, and all-around... I believe D-Rose would fit more into the scoring category, soon to be all-around... but I don't think he would ever be considered pass first...

PS, when you say only 15 players averaged more assist, that means half the NBA had guys who averaged more...

Either way Derrick Rose = future all-star

I wouldn't say Rose has to score a lot to dominate a game. I recall a game against the Kings that he was in control of with 11 assists and a whopping 4 points. His career high in the regular season is 27 points and he only did that twice. Rose is not aggressive enough to be a scorer. He has only taken 25 FGA twice in his career. Would I like him to score more? Sure because no PG in the league can guard him. But I don't think he has that scorers mentality. I do agree he will be an All Star one day, but right now, Jennings looking like he may get in before Rose does.

Jennings is going extremely well...and he's mature for a rookie, always a good sign.

It will be interesting to see how he goes once Redd comes back...he'll be expected to distribute the rock and not score a lot / hand the team back to Redd. Will they mix?

Warrior fan here. I could score 55 on the Warriors. They havent played defense since Wilt Chamberlain played there. Jennings looks like Iverson all over again. But as we see with Iverson now, proceed with caution.

The "litte man scoring all the points" act wont win in this league unless you are talking about acronyms like ROY or MVP. Nice for the trophy case, but theres no real future in that. I will reserve judgment till Redd is back and Jennings goes from 25+ shots a night, to 12-14.

Hopefully Redd will understand that the team's best chance to win is with him trying to score 15-20 ppg instead of 25-28 ppg... last year he only played 33 games, this year 2 before going out... in those 2 games he only shot 32%, he is rusty and will be for a lil while... personally I think Bogut should take the most shots, followed by Redd, then Jennings... with guys like ridnour, warrick, and them getting the bonus points...

This is my point. Scoring 50+ points against scrub defensive teams can be done by an NBA player with average scoring ability. Not to say that Jennings is an average scorer but look at that...Willie Burton? Tony Delk? Com'on!

Now if someone scores 50+ against a solid defensive team then I'd be impressed.

Kobe Bryant scoring 40 points against a solid defensive team is better than him putting up 60 against a non-defensive team any day.
