Another step that NJ is taking to try to keep Kidd is to sign Alonzo Mourning. I don't think Kidd is stupid enough to go to SA where he will have to face this season GP,Kobe,Shaq, and maybe Malone, and other seasons SHAQ!
If he wants to win a championship he has an easier and better chance to win it in the EAST, because in the West he won't even get to the Finals. I believe Byron got 1 more year left on his contract, so it's possible.

I would have to disagree. I think that Kidd should go to SA. The reason being, that although he might not even make it to the finals in the west, he still has a better chance of winning it while out west. You and I know, hell, everyone in this country knows, that the east is not going to win anything in the next 5-6 years. That is for sure. So even if Kidd does go back to the Finals every year with NJ, they are not going to beat the big 4 of the west. Especially now, with GP and Malone heading to the Lakers.

Also, Mourning wants to win too. And I'm sure if Kidd went to SA, then he would be interested in going too. The Spurs have the money, Tim Duncan, Jason Kidd, a shiny new trophy, and no tax.

Personally, I think Kidd should just go to SA if he really wanted to win.

If that's true, what kind of message does it send if the Nets cave and fire Scott? Then what coach is gonna want to come into a place where the player(s) dictate how things are run? This is what Rod Thorn should say: "Look here, Jason... we pay you to play ball, not GM. That's my job, OK? Now crap or get off the pot."

Living in NY, I could personally do without having to see that big-headed kid of his on TV all the time...

                  Not necessarily, although most likely.

It is very possible for the Western teams to "beat themselves up" on the way to the Finals (look what happened to Webber, Nowitzki, etc). People were saying that with Webber, the Kings would've had a shot against SA. Who knows .

I think a veteran, defensive team like the Pistons would have a shot.

I also don't think Mourning would do well in NJ. He'd take too many hits out East IMO. Dallas is a better fit.

Agreed... He wouldn't have to play as many minutes in Dallas as he would in NJ, and that way he can be fresher when the playoffs roll around.

to me, if it came down to Kidd or Scott...it's a no-brainer...i would pick Kidd. he is what makes that team go. only thing is, if you do that, it comes with problems. but to me, this is so easy.
