    NBA Division Realignment

Since the Sonics moved to OKC, I think the NBA should redo their divisions somewhat. When I play my assoiciation in 2k10, I use these divisions. What do you guys think?

    Western Conference
Pacific: Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Warriors, Trailblazers

Northwest: Jazz, Nuggets, Bulls, Timberwolves, Bucks

Southwest: Thunder, Suns, Mavericks, Spurs, Rockets

    Eastern Conference
Atlantic: Sixers, Celtics, Knicks, Nets, Wizards

Central: Raptors, Grizzlies, Cavaliers, Pacers, Pistons

Southeast: Bobcats, Hawks, Heat, Magic, Hornets

You got the right idea, but I think the Suns should be in the pacific and POR in the NW...

Ha, but the Blazers have historically been in the pacific and Phoenix is in the southwest so I figured that would make more sense.

Any realignment with the Grizzlies in the East is A-Ok with me

We could win that division if Lebron would leave next year

I think the NBA should get rid of divisions and just have the conferences, it would make playoff seeding easier. The only thing that I can think of that divisions actually do are make it that everyone must play each one in their division 4 times and then the NBA alternates who the teams are that you only play 3 times in your conference.

I don't think we will see a realignment until after the league expands to 32 teams. Then the league will probably do exactly what the NFL did: 4 teams per division, and 4 divisions per conference.

Why would the Suns be a better fit in the Pacific than the Blazers? Arizona isn't on the Pacific Ocean. Oregon is.

The NBA would never do it. Chicago doesn't like being put on the west side.

I think if they expand to 32 that they should realign to something like this and it all depends on where the expansion teams are as well:

                      Western Conference
                      Pacific: Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Warriors
Northern: Timberwolves, Bucks, Trailblazers, X(NEW TEAM)
                      Southwest: Suns, Mavericks, Spurs, Rockets
Midwest: Jazz, Nuggets, Thunder, X(NEW TEAM)

                      Eastern Conference
                      Atlantic: Celtics, Knicks, Nets, Wizards
                      Central: Grizzlies, Cavaliers, Pacers, Hornets
                      Southeast: Bobcats, Hawks, Heat, Magic
                      Northern: Raptors, Pistons, Bulls, Sixers

I'm sure you're thinking the northern division would have a future Sonics team, but what city do you think would be in the midwest division? Kansas City?

Yeah definitely was thinking Seattle and a city that has been thrown out there in St. Louis.... other possibilities are Anaheim (some city official has claimed that in 5 years they will have an NBA team) and Louisville (Louisville would have good fan base, guarantee that)

I'm from LA and having a team in Anaheim would be odd because we already have the Lakers and Clippers. The Grizzlies were thinking about it when they were in Vancouver and I think Sacramento is in the mix right now. If I was Donald Sterling, owner of the Clippers, I would move to Anaheim. But he's an LA man and won't do it.
