I agree. Farmar is heating up. Let him and Shannon get better, let Ron get comfortable, let Bynum have the offense run through him on the second unit, and let the whole team focus on defense. As long as the Lakers get home court throughout the Western Playoffs, they should be good. If they can't win in the Finals on the road, so be it.

Hahaha. YOu know what though, he's been more than you could ask for to be honest. I am just shocked every time I watch them play, it's like he and Ben Wallace found the fountain of youth.Comment

Re: 1/18-1/24 NBA Discussion
I guess this helps to explain Ron's subpar play this season:
Lakers forward Ron Artest wrote on his Twitter page over the weekend that he has plantar fasciitis in his left and right foot but will keep playing.
"I didn't know what was wrong with me," Artest told the Los Angeles Times. "I've probably had it a lot of times in my career, but I never, ever sat out with it. I know guys who have actually sat out with sore feet, but there's no need for me to complain about it.
"I just don't like excuses. That's it. No excuses. I don't want nobody saying, 'Oh, Ron Artest has got plantar fasciitis, so that's why he didn't play a good game.' No, I didn't play good or I didn't do what I did because that's just what happened. No excuses."
Lakers coach Phil Jackson suggested that Artest's foot ailments stem from the sneakers he wears.
"I called his shoes concrete boots for about the last month," Jackson said in reference of Artest's Peak shoes, made by a Chinese company. "Those shoes look like they're made for the Hudson River."
Jackson added that he hasn't had a conversation with Artest about sitting out, but admitted that it may come to that in the future.Comment

Re: 1/18-1/24 NBA Discussion
It's so disappointing.
Trevor isn't as bulky as Ron, but he more than made up for it with his energy on both sides of the floor. Trevor's offensive game seems light year's ahead of Ron's at this point.
Positive thing is LA is still the best team in the West and all they need Ron to do is to hit some spot up 3's. I have a feeling his defense will get back to respectability.Comment

Re: 1/18-1/24 NBA Discussion
I highly doubt that. I've watched every Laker game this year and he really doesn't force things at all. He's almost too unaggressive in general.
Just check the numbers as well. Career low in FG attempts.
The fact they have this guy for five more years worries me. Hopefully he can resemble an Horry/Fox type player in these next five years.Comment

Re: 1/18-1/24 NBA Discussion
Heh, people people... let's not go overboard here. Veteran players like Ron Ron who play on winning teams tend to coast throughout the regular season until playoff time is around a week or two away. I wouldn't worry about how he's currently playing at all. But with that said, he should be permitted to sit and allow that plantar fasciitis injury to completely heal up though... similar to what the Spurs should also do with Tony Parker.
