    Those commercials were awesome.

While I do agree with 23, I also agree with HMcCoy. Of course there is going to be some predictability in a season but no one really could have predicted some of the things HMcCoy listed. It's been nice to see the Thunder, Bobcats and Grizzlies become somewhat of a threat to play against. Sure all of those teams might be 1 and done come playoff time but it does make things more interesting.

But the economy has been the biggest killer of this season and the fact there is only about 6 teams that are true title contenders. Bill Simmons already covered this last year but the NBA has basically become the No Benjamins League. 90 % of the league is focused on saving money and nothing else. It's considered nice to most of the owners if they win some games and make the playoffs but as long as they save money that's all that matters. So as bad as it is that there is only a few teams going for it all, it will be great when those teams play each other come playoff time.

There have been some great stories, both positive and negative. I don't think your personal disinterest defines the sport, bro. Ask Tehova if the season is boring. Or Sacto fans. Or 'Cats fans. The Bulls won 6 titles, same old same old every year for close to a decade. Was MJ's prime boring? Big trades brewing, young players dazzling, theres plenty to talk about. These boards have lost something, but that's more due to Kobe being close to beyond reproach rather than basketball being boring. Constant anti-Kobe topics made these boards sizzle. That topic is over, lol.

Same teams suck? You really think the Thunder, Grizz, and Cats still stink and are all boring and unwatchable? Even the Clipps and Bucks have shown a pulse. I was a Thor/Thunder *****, but those boys are playing my kinda D...they're alot of fun to watch now, IMO.

        You ain't right.

I agree with your points. Watching Durant, Rose, Rondo, Gay, Randolph and those other young players grow has been exciting. After Dwyane Wade being the first of his kind and ultra unique, out of nowhere, 'Reke is like the second coming of Wade already. Even watching Nash's resurgence and the premature death and resurrection of CP3 has been (so) amazing for me. And then there's the Hawks, and the reinvention of Jamal Crawford.

This isn't the best season ever, but there are some great things to watch. It'll be interesting to see how the top teams shake out. Lakers aren't healthy. Boston hasn't been healthy. Orlando hasn't been healthy, in addition to VC not playing well in general. Cleveland looks like the best team by far, and a lock for the championship right now. If those things don't change, then this season has been totally different than last season. Except Boston.

        Oh, and...

LOL this is so true, the difference between this board and the others i visit is how they handle the Kobe/Lebron Stans. The other boards let them flourish and basically troll, but since everyone picks a side its ALWAYS something goin on to debate/heckle about.

You need the extremist, just look at the numbers the A.I. threads would do no matter the topic.

Other than that its just top 10 list comparing old players and weekly discussion threads

Dude your team is winning and you dont even post as much. Yeah to me, no I dont watch as much but that wasnt the point

The point is some of the biggest of the stories this year has been the drama, from crooked refs to gun toting players. Players with tats smoking weed on twitter, etc...

..but go ahead and pretend its the best its ever been. meanwhile David Stern will keep making stupid rules like players dont stand up on the bench while his league is on the brink of a lockout.

Those are stories just like every other league has. I don't pay any attention to them.

Right now the NBA has basically has Isiah Thomas (CP3), MJ (Kobe), Magic (Lebron), Bird (Dirk), Benard King (Melo), Young Shaq (Howard) and Kiki (Durant) in their primes or close to it. Seriously analyze the games and these players do it with a different style but basically these players are emulating those players in their prime.

The Lakers have as much talent as the 97 Bulls or 01 Lakers. The Cavs are like the early 90's Bulls teams.

There are up and coming teams like the Zombie Sonics, Grizz, Jazz, Bulls. Not to mention a solid rookie class (with the most intriguing player overseas).

There are tons of different play styles from the ugly defensive teams like the Bobcats to gunners like the Suns. We have 1-4 spread teams like Orlando and some more compact offenses like the Bucks. And we always have the great Jazz flex offense.

Focus on what you want but during the 90's MJ was gambling, punching teammates and being an all around jackass.....

                  Re: 1/18-1/24 NBA Discussion

You guys are crazy. This season has been exciting for me. Maybe it's just because my Bobcats are finally playing up to their potential and have a very realistic shot at the playoffs, but throughout the league there has been an enormous amount of fresh talent that I am exciting to watch.

Tyreke Evans is a future superstar.

Kevin Durant is a dominating offensive juggernaut, and has his team in contention for the playoffs.

Not to mention, all-world athletes who are in their prime, and have subsequently made the game faster and at a much more exciting level from an athletic standpoint. Kobe, LeBron, and Melo are all on title contending teams, and they are arguably the 3 most exciting NBA players to watch in this league.

THEN, you have you teams who are still fun to watch because of the emphasis of team play and having a consistent starting 5, such as the Bobcats, Grizzlies, Magic, Heat.

I find a lot of variety in todays NBA.

Don't get me wrong, I miss the 90s, simply because that's what I grew up on, but the game has changed and I am completely willing to accept that.

Didn't say best it's ever been, lol, but I co-sign everything 3rd, J.R. and Born are talking about. No real NBA fan gives more than a passing SMH at those knucklehead stories like publically saying your not a role model or choking your coaches, or players with lime green naturals appearing in wedding dresses. Y'know, the stories you see every day now.

I post on CBS, Bleachers, Cavs:the blog and other places more now, but counting posts is a poor way to guage interest. Plus ya gotta admit there aren't as many 350 response wartime threads any more and it's too early for crow threads. Of which here will be many.

Mostly though, the Cavs success seems to increase the less Cavs fans yap, so the Cavs official thread is

Don't disagree, just seems like there doesn't seem to be a more increasing interest in the game for good reason.

LOL I dont blame you man, but I know you guys are excited in Cleveland as you have reason to be. I see the improvements of the Thunder and Grizz but this what have you done for me lately, microwave win it now stuff is what kills the excitement.

I can't believe there isn't more talk of Stephen Curry - past 5 games he's averaged close to 25 points, 5.5 assists, 2 steals and 6 boards.
