Del Harris resigned as assistant coach for the Nets last week two days after president Rod Thorn indicated that he would not be the team's next head coach, according to The Star-Ledger.
NBA officials told the newspaper that Harris' agent, Warren LeGarie, told Thorn that Harris should take over while current head coach Kiki Vandweghe moves back to the front office in order to begin preparation for next season. One official told The Star-Ledger that Thorn interrupted LeGarie and said, "Hold it right there. All due respect, he will not be the next head coach here. So if he has any delusions about that, you should let him know it's not going to happen." When Harris got the word from LeGarie on Tuesday, he resigned.

have you ever been there? i have, i live 15 minutes away. what i love about the place is it's so small, no matter where you sat, no matter how high up....you always had a great view of the game.

The Nets have agreed to a deal to play at the Prudential Center in Newark for two years until their new arena is built in Brooklyn.
The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority voted to approve the deal Thursday morning, meaning the Nets will move to Newark beginning next season. The team will pay a $4 million penalty over two years to get out of their lease at the Meadowlands.

Might as well change our name to the Nework/Brooklyn Nets for the time being just like when the Hornets were relocated to OKC after Katrina and were called the OKC/NO Hornets.

I never understood why the Nets didn't make a deal with the Devils to move when the Prudential Center opened. They would have had to pay the penalty anyway. Why the wait.

I wish they had built something in Newark many years ago for the Nets/Devils. Attendance in that arena wouldn't have been an issue with ease of access from across the state. Every time i went to a Nets game coming up from the shore it was a pain due to all the rush hour traffic along EVERY SINGLE HIGHWAY. At least in Newark all the Rail lines besides one ends up at Penn Station. I know i would have went to more games. Still may go since my cousin is a season ticket holder.

Developers could soon break ground on the $4.9 billion, 22-acre Atlantic Yards project in Brooklyn.
A state Supreme Court judge on Monday rejected a legal challenge by homeowners and businesses to New York's use of eminent domain for the project. Developer Bruce Ratner, who plans to hold a groundbreaking on March 11, has proposed building office towers, apartments and an arena for the Nets. Opponents lament the judge's decision but say two other court cases could stop the project "dead in its tracks."

Newark is only 15 minutes away from East Rutherford. It's just a few exits down the NJ Turnpike. The Prudential Center is a more state of the are arena. I saw a Devils hockey game there. That place is really nice.

First off, as many have stated, Jay-Z doesn't own much of the Nets. Secondly, the line is, "If Jeezy's payin' LeBron, I'm payin' Dwayne Wade" (Reference to Young Jeezy's 23,24 song). Not Jesus.

wonder if they will change logo or unis this season, or just wait to they get to brooklyn. Some would think with the season they there having that some change would be good.
