    Re: 2/8-2/11 NBA Discussion

I absolutely loved the Lawson, Collison, Maynor picks on draft night. All three of the starting guards for those teams desperately needed a backup and each of the picks weren't reaches at all.

I see 2/3 of them are doing big things.. and I liked Maynor at Utah but apparently Jazz had different plans.

Collison is doing the same exact thing he was doing at UCLA. Which was getting past his defender and creating havoc, something I didn't think would happen since he's so slight. Good to see the Cali kid get some shine.

PFft, it has more to do with the team hitting shots. Usually fisher is 1-8. Sasha is 0-6 games in a row. Shannon been doing well with or without Kobe. Farmar is iffy. Pau finally playing like Gasol and not Gasoft. The guys have to step up like this when KOBe is in the line up.

Kobe has nothing to do with them playing lousy defense when he's around. They had no choice but to play hard so they dont embarass themselves.

I never seen the Lakers hustle so well this year.

Great win w/o Kobe. Everyone played well, even that bum Sasha. LOL

Pretty sure we're gonna lose to the Jazz on Wednesday, but I'll accept going 2-1 w/o Kobe though.

Yeah I was being a bit sarcastic but still a bit serious.

You can't deny that Kob has been looking to shoot a little too much, albeit his teammates have the tendency to be too complacent.

Kobe played a part in the defensive inabilities all season.

Pau's problem is that he can't mesh with Andrew and vice versa. Kob doesn't feed it inside enough as well.

              The Spurs are officially done.

No Kobe or Bynum and they still didn't even look like winning that game.

yeah, unless they make move they are done. RJ looks lost as hell out there. this is not what they bargained for.

Parker is averaging a career high in TO's I believe. Every time I look he seems to have 5 or 6 TO's this year.

RJ is the biggest non-factor I've seen in a long time and Duncan doesn't get enough low-post plays run for him.

The Spurs are going nowhere. Not just this year, but in years to come if they don't trade one or more of RJ, Manu or Parker.

Time to stick a fork in the Spurs.

I don't even think they can trade their way into contention at this point. They play terrible defense, there is no chemistry on either side of the ball. Too many players on the team have their nuts shrivel when they play good teams.

I didn't think it would be possible for me to despise a player on the Spurs more than I did Finley but it's happened with RJ. At this point I hope they salary dump his azz and end the nightmare.

This team will be one and done in the Playoffs. I can't see the ownership paying lux tax for that. I wonder if they don't pull the plug on this expensive experiment at the trade deadline.

It's just an expression. I think it's one of the better colloquial aphorisms, implying that one truth is so great that it is evidence of all truths in perpetuity.

                              haha, what'd I do?

Also, can't believe that no one mentioned that Dwight called Vince "half man, half retired". That was brilliant.

Kobe got frustrated with his injuries and started forcing the issue. Before he was hurt, his efficiency was at an all time high. Ron's passiveness and Bynum's inability to play with Gasol has been the issue, as well as like Rawdeal said, making shots.

Still, I agree with Ex. I hope that both Kobe and the Lakers see the opportunity to be a much better team, using all of their parts to the max. If everyone on this team brings their A- game on both sides of the floor, it will be very hard to keep them from repeating. But if they play defense sometimes and stand around waiting for Kobe to do something, and don't feed the ball to Pau, they will lose.

Kobe should be a late game special weapon that the Lakeshow pull out in crucial moments. Like a dick in a box.
