That said the last time this dude was having an issue he came out towards the end of it to give his 2 cents, so why all of sudden now he feels as though he's going to pass on this one?

Dont get me wrong, I've said it earlier in this thread, probably the first one to say it that AI needs to grow up, just to let the record show.
I'm sure JT has been down this road several times with AI. JT speaks cautiously about AI and to be honest, all his former players when it comes to matters in their personal lives. He'll take a stand but I think if he had his way he'd rather not publicly talk about it. It lends to me think that there is way more going on behind the scenes.

I agree that he needs help but he needs to look in the mirror first. Maybe this new situation will help him see the light and how he's hurting the people around him, and not just himself.

I dont know if background things are going on or not but honestly

This guy has sent himself into a tailsping. Some people are stubborn to the point where they hey have to hit rock bottom before they can come to themselves and this just might be AI's road.

        Thompson probably feels:

        -It's a waste of time.
        -Feels it won't do anything.
        -AI not receptive to change.

It's like an addict. You have to realize your bottom before you seek help. An addict of any kind has to change for themselves, and not at the demands/wishes of others. Otherwise, they'll eventually relapse and it'll become increasingly harder to get on the right track.

I think him going to Screamin A. is his cry out, even if it seems kinda odd

That's probably the most you'll get outta this dude publicly

God Bless AI's daughter and I hope she returns to full health...BUT Allen Iverson, like over 80% of these new NBA players, needs to grow up! John Thompson and John Cheney cannot keep playing daddy daycare to a 34yr old man who has made over 200million in his career! He must own up to his personal issues and work to get better. I am not concerned with him playing in the NBA again...I just hope he gets his life together.

I agree. I think we all know that dude has a lot of pride. Time to let that guard down a little bit and accept help.

He needs to let the pride go and let his ego be put to death.

If not he'll be playing on the same team as Marbury wondering how he ended up there.

Like how they were back in the 70's?

Some are now thinking Stephen A. came out with this column because the AI friend train has finally derailed now that his career appears to be almost done.

I dunno. He's burned every bridge now. Even with the Inquirer, who were basically forced to give him his job back. Not covering the Sixers anymore, but still.

He is trying to show his face everywhere and this last column he did might be just another "screamin'" by him lol.

I dont think he'd do that to AI right now if he did but who knows, maybe he thought it was his big story to get back in the spotlight

Didn't see this posted, but this is a composite of 4 Tweets from AI: http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/03/09/a...t-allegations/

"To my fans: You all know that my life isn't perfect. I am going through some very tough times right now, like I am sure that we all do from time to time. However, I will stand tall like always with "rhino" thick skin. Even though I have become used to hearing people say things about me that aren't true, it still hurts. I encourage you to continue your ongoing support and I want you to trust that this is another obstacle in my life that, with God's help I will overcome. God Bless You All."
