Re: Report: 76ers looking to break ties with Iverson
DENVER -- With allegations of heavy drinking and gambling swirling around Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony said he never observed any of that when the two were teammates for two years on the Denver Nuggets.
"No, man. I haven't seen any of that,'' Anthony, Iverson's teammate on the Nuggets from December 2006 to November 2008, said Tuesday after Denver's practice. "When I hear stuff like that, I just be wondering, 'Where is it coming from?' I want to hear it from him. So I'm pretty sure in a couple days I'll get him on the phone and talk to him.''
The Hell Melo?
You don't remember that Youtube video where you and AI were high as hell and probably drunk off your asses talking in jibberish. I would wager you guys both spent plenty of nights similar to the one in that video.
SMH at you Melo
Also why is he acting so shocked? AI had already been banned from different casinos.. the dude has issues.Comment

Re: Report: 76ers looking to break ties with Iverson
Given the fact that if you followed 85% of NBA players around with a camera after a game, you'd see the same thing, I don't think that's really a good point. Most NBA players go out and party after a game, many of them smoke weed, and many of them "talk gibberish" (whatever that means) in those situations. I don't see how that's really relevant to this -- clearly Melo doesn't think of going out drinking after a game as a problem (it isn't in general), and if he's AI's friend at all, he would have probably expressed some concern if he thought he had issues at the time.
Clearly AI is dealing with some problems right now, but aside from the various casino bans, there's really no hard evidence of any of these claims, and they're just hearsay from SAS at this point.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Report: 76ers looking to break ties with Iverson
85% of the league acts like how AI and Melo did in that video? I doubt it
My point was Melo is acting all shocked.. like "AI has drinking and/or gambling problems.. never him. Impossible". LMAOComment

Re: Report: 76ers looking to break ties with Iverson
Haha, I never understood the hubub over that video. They were drunk in Downtown Denver after leaving a club... they may have been high, but were probably just drunk. Some rapper friend of Melo's was there as was DerMarr Johnson (LOL), and that Nene "porno honey" line got dropped, which was apparently the most significant part of the video, because I can't pick anything else of consequence out of it. Just a random night out. And yes, the majority of the league (especially younger guys, which is where the AI criticism is relevant, as he's 34) acts similarly to that when they're out partying at a club, as do most drunk people at a club period. What's the deal? They dropped the n-word about 35 times, but other than that, it was very vanilla and uncontroversial.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Report: 76ers looking to break ties with Iverson
Once again the main point isn't about the video but of how Melo is taking us for dumb.
Not a big deal but just funny more than anything, especially when you think back to that hilarious video. They were talking like ******s and the porno line was the icing on the cake.Comment

Re: Report: 76ers looking to break ties with Iverson
But my point is that I honestly don't think he's "hiding something", or trying to be coy about it -- the stuff that they did like was exhibited in that video is normal behavior for an NBA player and someone like Melo wouldn't see a problem with it. I don't think he's being disingenuous, he probably hadn't thought of AI's drinking and partying as a problem based on the time he was in Denver. And yeah, maybe it's partially because Melo is also a bit of a ****-up in many ways (the DUI thing mostly) and probably doesn't want to say that AI's behavior is a problem since he did many of the same things and probably still does from time to time.
It's "getting a divorce from your wife of 15 years + rumors of drinking/gambling problems + sick daughter" type of problems vs. "might be drinking a little too much" problems... Melo probably didn't see the former starting to pop up from the latter, but that's apparently what happened if the reports are true.
Everyone knows AI's early history, but he was super quiet and family-oriented the whole time he was in Denver. Never any problems -- that video was the only thing that ever really came out negative about him while he was here. I honestly believe that Melo looks up to the guy and didn't see the cracks in his armor, especially since he was on his best behavior here in Denver.Last edited by Stumbleweed; 03-09-2010, 07:02 PM.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Your point? DerMarr getting his hair done, some rapper guy/friend of DerMarr's driving around smoking a blunt bragging about his **** (with AI nowhere in sight)... then the normal video that we all saw...Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Report: 76ers looking to break ties with Iverson
Who cares? He's a grown man and if the NBA hasn't caught him in 14 years and done something about it, then that's on them. Many players only smoke during the off-season, and he might be one of them -- and frankly, how the hell do you know? There's no evidence either way in the videos posted.
In a very real way, it would be about a million times better if NBA players only smoked weed instead of got drunk... All the stupid **** happens when they're drunk (no Supercool Beas).Last edited by Stumbleweed; 03-10-2010, 11:22 AM.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment
