Boston is probably a second round team anymore. Their championship dreams died last year when KG got hurt.

Why is that rediculous man? Maybe the question could have been phrased a little better, but still the Celtics are a legit team that just lost to the worst or second worst team in the history of the NBA. It is the biggest upset of the season for sure.

I think that the original poster just wanted to get an idea on what people's opinions of the Celtics were after losing to such a bad team, or something like that.

If you think its rediculous, ok. But tell us why.

That's not good enough.

The Celtics have the 9th best record in the NBA as of today. Not 8th. Eight other teams have more wins than Boston's 36. Their record at home is a disappointing 16-11. They are inconsistent with a record of 5-5 in the last 10 games.

We're talking about a team that was 62-20 last year, that also had the same injury problems that they're having again this year.

Because of these facts, this thread is legit, and not ridiculous. If anything, like I said before, the phrasing of the topic could instead be something like What's wrong with the Celtics? It's a topic worthy of discussion, whether you or anyone else think its ridiculous or not.

This is a nice point in the season to evaluate the contenders, and right now the Celtics seem to have slipped way down on that list, while lesser teams are playing better. Let's be serious, no one thought that the Celtics would have one more win than the Thunder at this point in the season.

It's a fair question. Within the context of being a contender, how far has this team fallen? Obviously, no one is comparing them to the Nets or even the Bobcats, but have teams like Dallas, Utah, Denver and Orlando moved ahead of the C's in a real way?

It's perfectly worth analysis, and far from ridiculous.

I think it all comes down to matchups. I see the C's coasting to the playoffs so hopefully Doc will monitor the minutes of the Big 3 and let them get healthy for the playoffs.

I'd put them in Tier 2, a step behind Denver but on par with Orlando & Dallas. I don't have any faith in Utah despite being a Deron Williams fan.

I'm just arguing semantics. It would be more proper to ask "Celtics---Contenders or Pretenders?".

"Bad" is reserved for teams like the Nets, Warriors, Pacers, etc.

These are the dog days of the NBA season. Around game 70 teams can start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I will say this though, Kevin Garnett's game has worn down.
