It doesn't bother me, it only represents 1 out of 125 votes (0.8%). It's not like I think all the NBA media members that do vote necessarily do the greatest job. A couple years PJ Brown got a MVP vote, so it's not like all media members took the last spot on their ballot that serious.

Doesn't really bother me other than the fact that it is a popularity contest and some of the "smaller" guys go unnoticed compared to the mega superstars (Kobe, LBJ). As long as Dirk got one, which he did [insert first round loss joke here], I could care less about the MVP. What really matters is the championship.

Then I can't imagine how you feel about the Allstar game voting.

I agree with you there, but the fan vote doesn't bother me because it is so small in the grand scheme of things. If the fan vote actually turns out to matter, I think it actually speaks more to how flawed the MVP voting was that year. My bigger beef is with media members voting because I think it should be NBA personnel ( GM's, scouts, coaches, etc). One more thing is that I hate how certain people define their MVP. To me, it should be the player that had the best season and I think the award was meant to be more of a most outstanding player award than anything else.

Until it negatively impacts the award I don't really care, although by nature it's a stupid idea. Hackers, people who don't watch the NBA.. these things can harm the process.

MVP is not like the All-Star game, letting fans have any say cheapens the award a bit.

Like I said until it negatively affects things I can't say much.

I don't like the idea, nor do I understand the point behind it. After seeing what the fans have done to the All-Star game, I can only imagine what they could do to the MVP vote. It's good that the fan vote doesn't count for much, but it shouldn't count at all imo.

I don't like the idea of the media voting for it in the first place. Adding fans would just add another potentially stupid vote.

Don't see any issue. It's just one vote and I'd assume the majority vote would be probably the right one. I'm sure many will vote for some random or their favorite player but I'd think the correct vote would outweigh everything else.

And as mentioned it just counts as 1 vote of 125 votes.

I don't see a problem with it. It's just 1 vote. I don't see the point of doing it, though. But whatever.
