McAdoo a great? Not really. His spot was the left box and he would massage the ball for too long before making an aggressive move. He prefered the jumper and other pretty shots. Against erstwhile defenders though he usually wimped out.

It was easy to vastly overrate tall jump shooters though since they were rare at the time. Bob didn't play good defense, pass, make clutch shots, or make the difference for his team.

I remember him as a kid when he played in Europe, mostly against one of our local Israeli teams. This guy was a real concern for the opposing coaches.
