LeBron is compared to Michael Jordan every single day regardless. It doesn't matter where he goes he will be compared to Jordan. Especially once he gets that first championship, the countdown to passing up Jordan's title total will be on. The only championship that this city is STARVED for is a Cubs World Series win or at the least a Bears Super Bowl. There is not any Bulls fan in this city that would go insane by LeBron not winning a title in his first year unless they just don't like LeBron in which case the chances of someone here going insane is equal to the chances anywhere he lands that someone will go insane if there isn't a title in the first year.

It was nothing fair about that Gasol trade and it's the MAIN reason Kobe is set up to win 2 more titles.

LA had a squad led by Kobe that was destined to be either exited in the 1st round or 2nd round annually, before this gasol deal. Now the team is 'almost' impossible to match up against because of their length up front.

In comparison the Garnett deal sent him to another conference and everybody new it was a 2 year window MAX, for the Celtics to win a title with him.

          P. Gasol has atleast 4 more prime years left before he starts to decline and the deal was made within the conference to a playoff team, which made it even more lopsided.

It sent the entire Western Conference scrambling and I remember GM's being irrate about how this one sided deal shifted the power within the conference, with LA losing almost nothing.

One of the most 'gifted' trades in NBA history IMO.

Sorry to go off topic a little.

I think Lebron ends up wherever he can convince Bosh to go with him.

How the hell did the Gasol trade rear its ugly head in a thread about where Lebron might end up.

FYI, the Lakers were the already the best team in the west before the Gasol trade.

I don't wanna get this too off topic, but that is a straight up lie right there. The Hornets, Spurs and even Jazz all had better cases for best team in the west before that trade went down. The Lakers had a chance to make it to the conference finals at best that year.

Yeah the Hornets were. They were good, but I don't think they would've made it to the Finals that year (or any other) without Gasol.

Grizz got his bro who is one of the better big men in the league and a couple 1st rounders. They weren't gonna win anything in Memphis anyway, so they saved the money on his contract. The Jamison deal looked pretty Gasol-esque to me when it first went down, but Antawn has really fallen off in the last year or two. I thought that trade was gonna make the Cavs much, much better and they gave away hardly anything.

I think LeBron needs to go to a place with better coaching, wherever that may be. New Jersey seems out of the question since they're so bad right now. New York has D'Antoni, who a lot of people consider gimmicky. I don't even know who is coaching the Clippers. Miami is a possibility if Riley ends up there like he says he would do if it brought in free agents and Chicago is looking at Calipari (not that he's a good coach, just that LeBron and him are supposedly close).

Based on all the reports I'm hearing, as if they mean anything, I think LeBron in Chicago might be the best option considering their roster and coach candidates. That team has an established PG and is good at defense/rebounding, which is something that LeBron can work with. I think the guy wants to 1) play in a bigger market, 2) play on a championship team and 3) be the star of that team and Chicago allows all three of those things.

funny how someone voted for OKC. durant would have to play a custom
role or opt out if that happens.
