Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat

Maybe it's just me reading into things too much, but I saw highlights of CB and LBJ's welcome to Miami with the pyro and all that at the arena.

I don't know, but the fact that LBJ was on the right, with Dwyane in the middle spoke volumes to me and also reminded me of Barkley's comments. He kinda just looked like a sidekick. Jmo.

After all, it's still Wade County.

Anyone read the article over at ESPN that mentioned how Dan Gilbert, owner of Fathead.com, had dropped the price of Lebron's fathead to 17.41, the same year that Benedict Arnold was born? As much as I think Gilbert is a fool for saying the things hes said, for some reason I find this absolutely hilarious. Apologies if someone already pointed this out but when youve got 50+ pages to read you end up skipping to the end most times.

On a side note, all this talk about Kobe and Jordan and how they were both such great men and are so much better then LeBron is a complete joke. Kobe threw Bynum under the bus, fueded with Shaq publicly and we wont even mention the entire Colorado incident. Then youve got Jordan who cheated on his wife and was a habitual gambler, neither man was a saint as some people are attempting to portray them as. It absolutely amazes me that LeBron is flat garbage because he left Cleveland and did it the way he did but all of a sudden everyone forgets all the things both Jordan and Kobe did in the past so they can talk about how much better they are then LeBron.

I don't know why everyone keeps saying Kobe was so courageous. Sure Kobe wanted to show he could be the man, but those first three years without Shaq, he failed horribly. He wanted out of LA, and if not for Memphis putting Gasol in a bow tie, Kobe would have eventually got his wish, or stayed stuck with 3 rings.

If Kobe had this same opportunity, he would have done the same thing. The only current NBA player I think would have stuck it out no matter what is Tim Duncan.

I hope those guys (LeBron and Wade especially) get what they have coming to them (misery and failure). Their arrogance during the press conference was infuriating; answering half of a question and then nonchalantly asking "What was the question again?" with a grin that says "I wasn't really paying attention anyway". I also find it funny that LeBron keeps mentioning him stepping up and "leading the team", I'm sure deep down Wade can't be too happy hearing LeBron talk like HE is going to come in and take over the Heat. Then again, LeBron failed miserably at being a leader, so I doubt Wade has much to worry about; it's probably just all-talk and no show, something LeBron has actually proven to be pretty good at, especially in the playoffs this year.

But the key is he stayed. His only problem was not being surrounded by talent, he was honest about that. Lebron was lying through his teeth, he never intended to stay in clvnd, plus he threw the playoff series. It aint even close.

This is why you need to read the thread instead of skipping to the end. No one is talking about Jordan and Kobe being saints in the least all the arguments brought up to them compared to LeBron have been basketball related and with regards to they're competitve natures. Unbelievable that you bring that crap into this topic.

Well LA and Cleveland aren't close in terms of cities so he had incentive to stay (who wants to live in Cleveland?). Kobe had it easy playing with Shaq, but felt disrespected because Shaq got all the credit for their rings. Once Shaq left, Kobe wanted to prove he could be the man and re-upped with LA. One missed playoffs, and two first round exits later, Kobe wanted out. I think it's a little less pressure when you already have rings and want to prove you can do it without being a sidekick, as opposed to being the most hyped up player in NBA history with nothing to show for it.

Jesus why is this such a hard concept to understand? This is not just about leaving Cleveland. Players make these decisions all the time. This is about setting this up four years ago, handicapping a franchise knowing he wasn't going to stay and then bolting to join up with another alpha dog.

I can't stand Kobe Bryant, but Kobe would never, ever join another alpha dog's team. You would not see Kobe rolling into Cleveland shooting from beneath the stage posed on LeBron's right, with Mo Williams or someone standing on the left and LeBron in the middle.

I honestly don't see LeBron playing second fiddle for long. He may say all the good things now, but there will be a point where he begins to take over.

Lebron is from the clvnd area! He had the area code for akron tattooed on his body! c'mon, man! Also, you don't remember how much heat Kobe was under to win a ring of his own? He had more than Lebron did, why? because that kid was already made out to be great. He had no pressure on him, he would have (and does now) within say, the next 2years had he stayed in clvnd and didn"t win. There was no great ring pressure on that fraud.

                              Their equal to me.

Boozer lied to get out of his deal with the implication he wanted to re-up and then bolted at first chance.

James lied by acting like Cleveland had a chance in this charade and spurned not only the Cavs, but the entire region he grew up in.

This is where most of my disappointment comes from when it concerns LBJ signing with the Heat.

I just couldn't believe he would do that especially at his age too. So I don't hate him for the decision he made but I'm real disappointed though because I wanted to see him be the top dog on the team.

Yes it can still happen in Mia but the chances of it messing with the chemistry of the team is higher b/c he's playin with a guy that is near the same level as him.

And lastly I for one like to see the best players in the game go head to head with each other. Even though the league is full of talent it just sucks (imo at least) to see two of the best players in the game team up.

When they could be battling it out on their own separate teams. I would have loved to see LBJ on the Knicks or Bulls going up against Wade/Bosh in the ECF. That's just a more exciting matchup imo then watching all 3 teaming up..
