I always enjoy the annual Where Are They Now edition of SI.
Roy Rogers... I thought he was a poor man's Chris Webber. Really thought he'd pan out.

I always liked Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf. He really should be/should've been an inspiration to a lot of kids. His OCD helped make him the player he was, and his dedication to his faith, in spite of it, was admirable.

Lawrence Moten - A DC legend. He played at Archbishop Carroll in DC with Marvin Graves (former Cuse QB). Even though he went to Cuse I loved me some Moten. High socks and his game was silky, just didn't the athleticism/size to play in the NBA.

Lee Mayberry - His Arkansas team with Todd Day & Oliver Miller was filthy. 40 minutes of hell. Somewhere I have their regular season game on tape when they played UNLV (LJ, Augmon, Anthony, Hunt, etc...)

Michael Cage - dude used to grab rebounds with one hand. He had a jheri curl that would make Jerome jealous.

Sedale Threat - Buying a pack of bball cards when I was younger was such a letdown when you'd get a Threatt card and think it was MJ.

I saw him at a Michaels arts and crafts store w/ his daughter a few years back in Chesapeake, VA. Took my sister there for an interview, and he must've been taking his daughter there for some school supplies or something. I said "J.R.!" he said "what's up", and I sort of just gazed in awe...lol.

Didn't he lead the NCAA in points and rebounds his senior year? Could be wrong.

What did happen to Allen Ray? You'd think he'd be on somebody's bench at least.

As a Duke fan I always wonder where both Trajan Langdon and William Avery are? Also what ever happen to Joesph Forte? Last I heard of him, he was in law trouble.

Trajon Langdon is a starting guard for CSKA Moscow.

Wiliam Avery was playing in Europe last year but I think he's out of basketball now.

Joseph Forte plays for Nuova Pallacanestro Pavia, an Italian basketball team.

I thought he was a Theo Ratliff clone. Rogers was an amazing shot blocker and good defender but had no game on the other end of the court. Rogers ended up "only" making around 3 million in his NBA career while Ratliff has made over 100 million. Rogers was also one of the few players to really enjoy playing in Vancouver.

You sure you're not thinking of Carlos Rogers? Roy Rogers had a jump shot with range (at least college 3pt line). He was a big man with handle and good court vision. I think the main question was how soft he was... I guess that was answered.
